Well, out on some PSP sites there was mention of some PSP Game releases from PARADOX, so I checked it out a bit. On a place I visit, I found the .NFO and it seems legit. Up in the right corner they had their IRC channel, "#pdxconsole" on EFNET, and I figured, "Uh, wtf?"

So, I checked some official NFO's on NFORCE and sure enough, that IRC channel was up in the corner of their Kessen release. When you go into the channel, here are the topics.

Quote:
"* Topic is 'Ridge_Racers_JAP_PSP-PARADOX Vampire_Chronicle_The_Chaos_Tower_JAP_PSP-PARADOX Wipeout_Pure_USA_PSP-PARADOX"

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post NFO's in here, if I can, let me know and I'll post the one for Wipeout:pure.

They claim to be UMD dumps and the NFO's give a bit of information on the UMD's, but, don't know yet.

It all seems legit, and like I said, if I can, I will post the NFO's if I can go ahead without getting banned from here.

Oh yea, it is real. I have the release myself.

. S P E C I A L N O T E S .

Of course you can't play this game yet, and you won't be
playing it anytime soon on a burnt umd disc (as sony has
already said they wont be releasing burners for these).

However maybe it will give you an idea of what PSP games are
like, and just what is hidden on those little discs Smile
Hopefully it will give psp developers a chance to look into
the files etc used on a UMD. Knowing what files are present and
where in the filepath they can be found may help with loading
of 'driver' files etc from disc.

(Hint: UMDs use an iso9660 based filesystem, so this image file
can be opened in any iso image browser such as isobuster to
look at, extract and generally play with the files within.
It could also be burnt to a dvd to let u access the files on
your computer such as in windows explorer)

Since this contains the ability for "web browsing" its hoped
that an exploit can be found that will allow the booting of
code on any version PSP. Check the unencrypted files on disc for
more info on exactly how the browser works.

Thanks go out to the supplier of this title. Cheers.

Techincally, thats only the release notes from the nfo. They are releasing PSP games. Their not huge files either. This ones 132.87 MB. I also saw movie releases for the PSP being released to.

Doubt the mods will care. These releases dont show up on NFOrce and their pretty rare still on sites.

well, it appears that, according to my (and a few of your) predictions, they've found a way to dump the UMD into an image file. All they've gotta do now is figure out a way to run them on the PSP.

Something that I found surprising was the size... <200mb? This either shows some potential for expansion (in game size and quality), or some very good news for WAR monkeEZ. I guess a little bit of both, for now...

out to the groups, gratz and keep up the good work. I'm anticipating a PSP workaround and a possible PC emulator soon Wink

Well, what I dont get is if I should buy a PSP or not. I know that theres usually emulators for handheld systems. But since handhelds are now becoming more advanced, might as well buy a PSP this weekend.

Well I can recommende, Stunnishing look, MP4 playback, MP3 Playback, Fits right in your pocket, GPU and CPU is way better then the PS2, and the first step towards playing UMD discs off the Memory Stick have been taken.

well there is still no gurantee that it will work...but now there is a good chance. i'd still wait a bit...

on the other hand the pirating is a factor not to be denied...more poeple will buy the hardware (and at least some of those will buy some legit software) if the system allows pirated games to be played....modding that thing seems hard since it is so small...
