After about 30 years of wanting a dog, and being either told no, or just me not being in a position to take care of one, I finally got one Very Happy

We picked her up 2.5 weeks ago at a shelter. Someone had left her and two of her siblings in a shopping bag in front of a store.

The shelter thinks the puppies were about 2 weeks old when they were brought there so she's probably almost 5 weeks old at this point.

Her name is Penny, on account of her size xD

We still don't know what breed she is, mixed probably, and she'll be a small dog. But if anyone can ID the breed don't hesitate to post Very Happy

Penny looks cute, hope she stays healthy, congrats for saving her and giving her a chance Very Happy

@Neona, that bully looks fab! Be careful what you feed her, bullies show immediate intolerance to foods, they suddenly start shedding, skin issues and the scratch a lot - careful about the protein in the food. Don't teach her or allow her to jump from the bed/sofa, stairs too much, them idiots have a pre-disposition for hip dysplasia. Other than that, have fun with her, they're some of the most derp dogs ever. Laughing

And also this, as he's my co-bike rider

yay, finally found a kitten for sale and not expensive (very hard to find in Sweden + prices are usually ridiculous - 250 euro and more for common farm cat).

gonna be one of these two...

will be interesting to see how my now 2 year old cat will react...

say what?? They pretty much "throw" cats after you. Where do you live where its expensive to get a common farm cat?

I've looked for 2 years on Blocket and Facebook, almost weekly. They are very expensive after Corona and everyone wants a cat now. Many people i've contacted on Blocket never replies, perhaps 1 out of 20, the ones that does reply is saying "i've gotten over 200 replies in a few hours". Some update their ads by saying they can't reply because they are overwhelmed by emails. I even looked at older 1-2 year old cats, no go, always sold even if you are very quick.

So no, they do not throw cats at you.. i'm in södermanland but i've also checked outside, it's pretty much the same, don't know if the most southern or northern Sweden are different, haven't checked since it's a long drive.

I was lucky because this is from a friend so i get him cheap too Smile there were 5 kittens, all went in minutes.. have you looked after a cat after Corona? Before doesn't count, then it was more easy.

Edit: I used to be admin in a a couple of groups helping

My brothers daughter is working with finding home to homeless cats (and kittens) and she is struggling with find homes. I think there are like 20-30 groups on facebook with similar problems. Blocket/Tradera is worthless for those kind of things - you should have looked for groups that saves abandoned or homeless cats - however, that said, im glad you finally found one Smile good luck with it!

Took me aprox 20 minutes last year before our new cat established dominance over the other 4 cats ive got lol

I've looked at those also, the ones around here. They are very picky since so many are looking for a cat now, they even come home to you first.
I live in an apartment so i'm probably not very high on priority, many people have more space, better living. I called once though and they had one out of five cats left, but this cat was also a more problematic cat so i decided against it.

My brother is moving (divorce) and he also had to get rid of the older cats, it was very easy, didn't take one day to find buyers. If someone has kittens wow, they go directly..

Also my parents neighbors breeds cats, some type of mix, ragdoll + something else, too expensive for me.. They can sell them for 50% more than before, they didn't know this until my parents told them how difficult it had been for me to find a cat and that prices are super high. They tried and every kitten got sold for this rather crazy price (they were already expensive before imo over 6K), so they do a very nice profit.. did around 40K.

They do not sell cats at Tradera btw, you can't auction off pets Razz

I'm baffled that you have to pay for common european breed. In Poland you pretty much can't sell non-pedigree animals.

EDIT: Here's mine attention whore that rules the house in pandemic.

Yeah, Sweden is a very different country, and in so many ways, than other countries. You don't have any stray dogs or cats here, from what i've seen during travelling many countries have tons of that, and i hate seeing it.

When i released my cat to be outside the first thing i see on facebook for my city is "does someone knows this cat? is it a stray?!" and then a photo of my cat sitting on a rock.. People were directly worried and i had to reply that its my cat and its new to the community Wink

Cute cat Smile
