Yes! I love DooMRL. Shame I will have to make all the progress from the beginning.

Dungeons of Dredmor and The Binding of Isaac are very newbiefriendly roguelikes.

i meant the difficulty curve inherent to roguelikes not anything that can be specifically attributed to any single game.

well, you can save between levels
shift+S when entering stairs, it kicks you to the main menu
alt+tab out and make a backup of 'save' file
then hit continue

Quote: | DoomRL, a free Doom roguelike designed to fit coffee-breaks, may be shut down. Zenimax/Bethesda has unleashed the lawyers.
DoomRL creator Kornel Kisielewicz revealed the news on Twitter. "Zenimax have just written to me demanding I take down the DoomRL site," he tweeted, and shared the letter.
Twitter followers urged Kisielewicz to rebrand to avoid legal action but, he replied, changing all reference to Doom and replacing monster names and sprites "isn't that easy".
"Short version: we're f***ed," he later wrote. |

What did the dude think was going to happen? At least in the early versions (haven't looked at it in years) he used the name, logo, sounds, similar artwork, etc from the original game(s). Of course they were eventually going to C&D his ass. He probably would have been fine had he not monetized the page for the game.
And the KS video for his new game looks and, more importantly to me, sounds like it was recorded on a cellphone camera in a bathroom.

Yeah, he could ignore it until he received a more specific email that mentioned actual fucking names. But why take the risk, he is focusing on the new game anyway.
