I think the original plan was for a full remake then they realized they probably would not make the money back to do that, so they went for the fast and cheap method.

The new soundtrack is supposed to be terrible, so it is probably best to wait for someone to mod the original soundtrack back into the game.

Lazy Remake or not I'm just glad it's here. When Shadow of the Damned comes out then that completes my console games to PC. I can get rid of my annoying Xbox 360 and it's buddy PS3! always wanted to play this looked interesting back in the 360 era but having played a bit now i dont like it, gameplay is too simple and its more about the style. will try shadow of the damned though I can see your soul at the edges of your eyes..
