The game is currently in development for PC and will feature a “continuous single-shard universe” which will give players the opportunity to “edit the world and build any construction they like with no size restrictions”.
Played in a first person view, players will be able to build everything from spaceships to giant space stations in a universe made up of millions of planets. This MMO will feature exploration, mining, crafting, trade, politics and warfare.
The developers behind the game are veterans from Ubisoft, Sony, Apple and Aldebaran Robotics.
Looks like Empyrion in MMO form. Sounds quite impressive if they can pull it of.
Seamless transition to planets was done in '95, glad to see it return. (Fury³)
I don't know how I feel about the proceduraly generated massive universe yet.
If it's so big you never meet anyone it kinda defeats the purpose of an MMO.
Meh, when I see anything based around "voxels" the first thing that springs to mind is "We're having players make 90% of the content for us, cause we're too lazy as developers to do it ourselves. If the game fails we can place blame on the players, we did our job by providing the framework!"
This goes triple for MMO's. Look at what happened to EQ Next.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
