It's no use to benchmark yet, the quality drivers arent out yet. I'm so very afraid of this OS...

ok, tried it out, works great for a beta 1, dont bother benchmarking though as the drivers are very rudimentary. Games run but dont bother with daemon tools or alcohol yet as they both crash when run. Played CS:Source and cricket 2005. Scored 3000 points lower in 3dmark 2005. The aero theme works great because my card X800XT supports LDDM and ATI has released a beta set already.

I love this new beta, when i got it i just mounted with daemon tools on my C: [XP] installed to D: and it all w0rked out good, i installed daemon in vista beta 1 and it w0rks well for me, I also tested counter strike source, its cool i just click the exe file on my C: and i can login and play, i don't even have to install the game again on vista, i think for battlefield 2 you goto install it again cause it never worked for me, i'm gunna go test gta:sa Very Happy ... peace

I used daemon tools to mount the image and installed to a partition on my second HD - worked fine and automatically made it dual boot. Installed in win xp btw. Peace,

well done numnuts installing an Operating System on your primary drive.

Had a seperate hard drive and unplugged my main drive and everything went through extremely quick, with no problems at all, only 1 problem is that my sound card is not supported yet. Crying or Very sad

Its Beta 1, still got Beta2, RC1 and RC2 and Gold to get through before its released so it was pretty much as expected from me, although the glass theme looks good, it certainly will not be worth getting a whole new os for.

Heh, I couldn't get this to install.

Those installation screens aren't very informative... Wink

Couldn't tell if it was locked up or taking it's sweet ass time.. I'm gonna' guess the first one.

I might try to re-burn the DVD later.. I dunno. :\

You have to give it around 3 hours install time. give it 4 max.

I made it to the "Finishing installation" screen once, and I let it go for about an hour and a half, and all it did was loop that progress bar over and over and over so many times.

Then I gave up on it. Wink

I installed it and ran it for about 4-5 hours on my computer.
It was a little confusing at first with all the new browsing features in exporer.
Tryed playing WoW in it with ATi´s Vista beta drivers, it ran VERY slow.
I bet the final will a very nice OS after a few tweaks...I mean XP untweaked is a pain in the ass.

Well well...
Those of you that is thinking about running the Vista Beta1 for a long time needs to think over it a bit becuase it is very slow and frustrating in it´s current release.
