I wen't to EB Games today and they had a bunch of posters,fake boxes and one big poster at the counter that said "Pre-Order now, Arrives August 12 ". They also said it in another game shop called "Game" and they confimed it.

sure it didnt say August 3? It says that on ebgames.com and i remember that big announcement thing they had on their site that said august 3...

the game may be out on august 3rd but that doesnt mean that stores will have it august 3rd. the 12th seems a reasonable estimate for eb games to have the game shipped to all their stores by then. It'll be warezed for sure before the 12th tho so no biggie. I just hope it's not a dvd-only game :/ Peace,

It wont have uber protection.
ID doesn't use Uber protection, and with carmack heading it up, i can damn near guarantee it.

Copy protection however is not decided by the programmers, methinks. Isn't it up to the publisher? They are the ones that need to make sure the game isn't widespread as warez.
