a friend is trying to adapt an mpeg-2 video he made himself so that it can be played in any dvd player. While it does work in any dvd drive using a proggie (e.g. PowerDVD), as soon as you put it in a dvd player the screen is all scrambled up.
Can anyone direct me towards a tutorial and a proggie how to do that? I suppose you have to superimpose the dvd menu structure and stuff but I am completely new to this genre...
Hmm, I'll have to ask him but basically, he has made a video himself and would like to make it compatible to DVD players - do you know a guide of how to do it?
I have neve rhad a problem converting the file for MPEG2 (DVD) via tmpgenc and then authering it with Tmpgenc DVD author
Then burning with nero
I convert crap from my camcorder all the time to DVD and never had that combination fail in any DVD player.

I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
@|nSaNe, of course you dont have a problem cause its mpeg2 source to mpeg2 media. he is talking about a vcd (video compact disk)
VCD is mpeg1, you will need to download a mpeg2 to mpeg1 converter. then burn with nero.
the reason it will play in the computer and not the dvd player is because the computer can see the files as they are (mpeg2) the dvd player is looking for and has to play mpeg1 because it is of and is in compliancy of a vcd.
