I've started reading more and more and I think it would be very convenient to have a device that's easy to read from with a tonne of books inside, but I don't really know where to start.
I read 'Masters of DOOM' years ago from an iPad and it wasn't the best experience, but I saw a kindle (not sure which) recently and it looked great to read from
I started with a nook color a long time ago and then switched to an ipad when I bought one and haven't looked back. It's very convenient considering how "cheap" it is to find books off torrents, etc. I do like the ipad better because when it's dark, the ipad switches to a black background with white text mode and then reverses it when the room is well lit. The kindle's are nice as well if you're just wanting an e-reader since they use very little power and can last days to weeks without a charge.
I can't stand long reading sessions on Screens or iPads/Tablets but...
I heard mostly positive about the Kindle. Supposedly since it is designed to just read on it it is suited better. There's also the Nook and Kobo's I read about that you might want to look into those... but it seems like the Kindle is the better choice overall.
In the end I gave up on it, because I couldn't try it out first. My advice: if you know someone with a Kindle ask if you can lend it for a day to see if you can stand it for a few hours of reading.
