apparently amazon was so impressed by what the boys have done with the first season, theyve already decided to extend the initial run to 5 seasons from the original... 3 was it?
i dont think so since they havent recorded all the episodes yet, just the segments. they will have a "live" studio audience each week, like the top gear format.
I think I saw a "stream weekly" somewhere in one of the trailers. Even Netflix does this sometimes with their original series, while others are dumped all in one go.
I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
So thats what Top Gear is like with oodles of cash and freedom? And Richard Hammond swearing... The show was definitely a bit rough around the edges during some scenes, and I'm not entirely sure what the deal with the corpses was - but for a first show with a new team, and a (nearly) new format - it has promise.
2 things concern me. One is the fact there is Product Placement - now I assume this to be the cars themselves. There was only a small review of the BMW, but I noticed there was literally no criticism whatsoever - excluding the ride select switch doing nothing. I do hope that isn't a sign of things to come - 'you can review our cars as long as you say lots of nice things about them' - that isn't a good thing.
The other, more predictable one, is that the show description states 'Season 1 included in your Prime subscription' - does this insinuate that the following seasons are NOT going to be free? That would be quite a dick move imo.
Hopefully those concerns are totally unwarranted - I look forward to 14 more superb episodes

REMAINS TO BE SEEN IF I WILL EVER ACCEPT THE AMERICAN... i'll give him a chance, he might end up being amusing in the usual obnoxious idiot american kinda way, but for a first impression, he just feels kinda cheap and.. forced...
im glad they skipped the celebrity shit like i always do
as for the first ep.. WONDERFUL opening (many feels, really well done, quite clever), whole thing had some good laughs... i know they cant do a 'the news' section for legal reasons, but they HAVE to have a more robust discussion segment in the future, they really do.. its always been, hands down, one of the most entertaining parts of top gear and id really love to see more banter/discussion about 'stuff' happening on the grand tour.
i also think that clarkson and hammond totally nailed it, but may felt a little off... new series jitters perhaps, im sure he'll get into the groove before long though.
and loving the production values, but i hope the tent sections get reworked a little...
oh, and god damn that mclaren has a sexy back end. seriously, thats a piece of art.
Well it was good I guess The porsche gave me a boner But I don't like the visual effects. They just upped them too much. Looks like a moving Instagram frame ALL the time.
Also they just burned the higher budget just to get the most luxurious fun you can have for the three hosts. I liked them talking about shitty dacia's and test driving fords through shopping malls
There was only a small review of the BMW, but I noticed there was literally no criticism whatsoever - excluding the ride select switch doing nothing.
I suggest you go drive one and then revisit this, because it really is _that_ good. I've driven one and I must have one now. If you go back and check some videos/reviews on M3s, you'll find that he had very little to complain about those either (again mostly about the electronic settings ), except that maybe they got a bit more...idiot proof over the years. More failsafes, the car is helping you much more. And if you look at other car reviewers, you'll find that that's what most say. The M2 is the M the M3 wants to be.
The M2? None of that. And that's what makes it so good. It's a driver's car. It's completely bonkers if you've never driven something with a lot of horsepower, but if you have, you'll love it. It's not bonkers like a Merc of this type is; while you get stupid amounts of power, it's all very controllable. Everything is direct, you know exactly what's happening all the time. The 1M was bloody marvellous too, but this takes what that did and steps everything up a notch. It is more like an E36 M3 than even the E46, much less the E9x or F80
So I get what you're saying and had it been any other car, I would've agreed. But the M2 is just ridiculously good.
i have a bit of a beef with the bmw 'review' myself, as well... mostly because.. i dunno.. because it was 'so great', clarkson seemed to just repeat that fact so much, it became like 2 hours (at least it felt like it) of car skids and clarkson saying OH MY GOD ITS SO GREAT ITS SO GREAT ITS THE BESTEST EVER...
basically far too little to say for how long they dedicated to it, which (while im sure its a great car) made a lot of it feel unnecessary and just.. padding.. for the show...
thats my real complaint, that it felt overly long like a filler segment for a car they didnt really have enough interesting stuff (good and/or bad) to talk about.
