"Edge of Twilight - Return to Glory" is a 3rd person action adventure game presenting a unique post-apocalyptic, steampunk fantasy world that has been split into separate realms of Day and Night. Players take the role of Lex, an outcast bounty hunter who finds himself caught amidst the clash of two polar opposite civilizations, the industrial Atherns and the spiritual Lithern, the result of impetuous greed for a solitary source of energy.

Players will discover that Lex is the only living halfbreed in the world, rejected by society and burdened with the unique ability to venture through the two parallel realms. Ironically, that society will soon learn that his halfbreed heritage is the last chance their world has to escape complete darkness. During his journey, Lex will become part of an increasingly complex and enthralling storyline that will blur the line between good and evil, right and wrong. A story of wildly interesting characters, over-the-top action, and deep, ornate mysteries set within a universe where anything is possible.

Features
  • An immersive post-apocalyptic world that combines both Victorian steampunk and alternative fantasy elements.
  • A new brand of fast-paced cinematic combat and action that adapts depending on the character’s persona and the player’s reactions.
  • A world divided into the realms of Day and Night; an antihero torn between two personas, each possessing its own distinct abilities.
  • A unique, twisting, and captivating storyline that dynamically alters based on the player’s level of involvement.
  • A living, breathing world populated by an interesting and wildly different cast of characters.

It will be a full release, and numbers of DLCs will become available very soon, you can purchase them separately for the additional chapters of the game. However, if you were one of the Indiegogo contributors previously, you will be getting a free DLC, which will allow you to receive all chapters and mission free of charge.

@prudislav
Well, that explains the bad graphics then. Very Happy

Watched a bit of your posted video. But the gameplay and animations also seem very dated.

apparently its out seems like they are releasing it in some kind of weird episodic manner aka this is only first chapter with the rest releasing slowly towards the end of the year

"*This contain only first chapter of Edge of Twilight*
*Due to some technical issue, the Ultimate Collector's Edition is slightly delayed. We will try to get it released soonest we can* "
Quote:
You can also purchase the Ultimate Collector's Edition (priced at $13.99 and with a 35% discount at launch), which we highly recommended for players who want access to the future Edge of Twilight updates. Also included in the Ultimate Collector’s Edition is the Edge of Twilight soundtrack. You can enjoy the music from the game and listen to a separate collecting of sound files in the high-quality OGG format. Most importantly, the Ultimate Collector’s Edition is the only DLC allowing you to freely download all future updates, including the exclusive followup stories and bonus content only available for fans who purchased Ultimate Collector’s Edition. We highly recommend you purchase it along with Edge of Twilight - Return to Glory.

An alternative for players only interested at the main story line: the Edge of Twilight - Saga Complete DLC will become available later this year. Priced at $11.99, it only focus on the main story. More information will be announced later.

Once again, thank you very much of your support for all these years. It has been a long journey for Edge of Twilight. It is unfortunate that we are unable to provide you the complete story at the launch, but the entire story will be slowly revealed to players. As we explained previously, we have to release each chapter separately so that we can afford to pay the license fees and costs necessary to allow the game’s release to the public. This is our concern from here on out…

Negative reviews so far but there's only three and two are in I think Japanese and the other in I'm not really sure, Spanish?

EDIT: More on the episodic split, something to do with budget.

NOTE: This is just chapter one you're buying. Not the complete game.
Not listed in the description of the game so be sure you are aware of this before purchasing game.

There will also be an "Ultimate Collectors Edition" for a full price of 13.99 which includes full game, all dlc and music.

I'm definately down with the "Ultimate Collectors Edition" but I wanted to make sure others were aware that you are not getting the full game if you purchase just this. That should really be listed in the title or description. It is only listed in the "Recent Updates".

EDIT: And an announcement on it.

Edge of Twilight is now FOR SALE and ON SALE. Yes, for you early birds, we are taking a whopping $3 off the retail price for Edge of Twilight – Return to Glory. “Only $3,” you say? Hey – that’s a 20% discount!

Why so cheap? Because this is only the first chapter is an epic story. If you want to get all the future releases as soon as they hit the market, grab the Ultimate Collector’s Edition along with Return to Glory.

No, there is not a package deal for both at the same time. Yes, the Ultimate Collector’s Edition is not yet on Steam. Yes, it will be on Steam soon.

Let me make it very clear so that no one sits around anxiously picking their nails or clawing their skin or whatever your nervous tick might be. If you want to play Edge of Twilight, grab Return to Glory now! You do not need to wait for the Ultimate Collector’s Edition so that you can save money – the Ultimate Collector’s Edition is an add-on, meaning it does not contain Return to Glory.

Buy Return to Glory now, while it’s on sale. Come back 24 hours later, hopefully having slept and not just killing Tainted Lithern all night, and buy the Ultimate Collector’s Edition, which will give you access to all the future episodes. In addition, we are throwing in a soundtrack to the game, included in the Ultimate Collector’s Edition.

So, in conclusion, an FAQ:
Should you wait for the Ultimate Collector’s Edition before buying Return to Glory?
No. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition does not include Return to Glory.

Should you be in a rush to buy Return to Glory?
Yes. The discount is for a limited time only.

Should you be in a rush to buy the Ultimate Collector’s Edition when it is released in 24 hours?
Yes. We are adding a limited-time 35% discount to this edition to compensate for getting it out later than Return to Glory.

tried to google translate them and doesnt sound all that negative ... will see, love the theme and the gameplay from the video doesnt look all that bad ... but for a game 10 years in the making its kinda dissapointing to see only first chapter ... will wair for english reviews ... might even buy when more of the game is out (first chapter is supposedly 4h long, with complete saga promising 30h)

Yeah I'm probably waiting until the full content is available, it seems promising so far from what I can see in the videos and screenshots currently available and also from discussions on their forums even if the developers can be a bit vague on certain questions.
(One of the posters asked a few questions including about game length and the answer was that it varies from player to player - http://steamcommunity.com/app/489070/discussions/0/350543368756502832/ - though when pressed he also said around 4 hours for the first chapter and 30 in total.)

(Seven chapters planned in total it seems so from my or err Google's math that's around 4 hours each for 28 hours total so I'm guessing that's what they are aiming for then as that's fairly close to the 30 hour estimate.)
