At the International Astronautical Congress, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk unveiled his ambitious plans for interplanetary travel.
Afterwords he fielded some very strange questions from the audience...
i call this 100% bullshit they didnt go to the moon but they want to go to mars what a fucking joke
there are very little to no resources on the moon, why would try setting humans up on the moon? Not to mention the whole point of another planet is incase shit happens to the earth and if shit happens to the earth, the moon is going to follow right behind....
Even if he get people to mars this will turn into some kind of Lord of the Flies/Murderdome/Stanford Prison Experiment in an eyeblink.

He knows this on this first instance or maybe even second/third etc, could you not tell in his voice and what he was saying that it is pretty much a death trip - it is for the whole purpose of probing what will, can, or might happen regarding having human beings in that environment. As with all things with such huge progressions with us humans a little sacrifice is the norm sometimes to get things right.

the point of having a base on the moon is that it's easier to launch crafts from the moon than it is from Earth
etc. you can send all the parts and tools to the Moon base, assemble a much larger craft there, which then you can launch to Mars
also if something happens on the Moon, it's 2 days and you're on Earth again
if something happens on Mars, you can dig your own grave, lay in it and wait to die
