I mean.... Maybe?
Seems they're going for a lost approach where they just let the writers go nuts and make shit up each week without any interest in creating a consistent or explainable story universe, so it might be fun I guess..

Like half of the shows on syfy - Helix, Dominion etc.

It's Syfy, there will be at least 2 seasons and than cancel. Of course the writers won't have a clue what they are writing about.
