The hugely anticipated (fuck you) successor to Train Simulator has been announced. It has been developed using Unreal Engine 4 and so far one route has been announced (Sand Patch Grade).
Closed beta is coming in December 2016
Full release date is February 2017
Unlike the previous Train Simulator games, you can now walk freely around the train/cab.
Announcement video (starts at 3:40) contains alpha footage:
Reminder for you guys the game is out tomarrow !
Last chance to preorder with -20% (if you own their precedent Train sim game)
Remember that, according to this forum, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Ghost Recon : Wildlands, NieR: Automata, ... are all crap and boring games, so I am sure you don't know what to do with all your saved money ... you can't go wrong with this one.
God, you guys and your goddamn awful simulator games.
What's next paint dry simulator?!
The only hope I have is that the day the airplane/train/(farming machine ) driver faints and we passengers are all going to die, there will be a Silent_Lurker ready to take control and save us all

@krell1983 Damn, I thought I deleted this video years ago
@TheZor@Shoshomiga@Morphineus Oh you guys
So, played the game a bit (6 hours, that's basically tutorials and a single A to B and back trip and some wandering)
Pros:
- Simulation depth and immersion are impressive. (This is Flight simulator on rails)
- Finally ! An engine upgrade (Unreal Engine 4) which provide a nice improvement over the 2009 Train simulator.
- Sounds are awesome, (horn lacks some punch though).
Cons:
- Performance can benefit from optimisations especially on stations with many trains around.
I got around 30-40 at stations and 50-60 in the wild ( @4K / Ultra ) but CPU or GPU aren't necessarily @99% when game struggles.
(yet, this is a train sim, not some counter strike MP session, chill out)
- Some minors issues making the game looking a little "Early access" style
Worth a buy IMHO if you really are into train / sim / early access stuff, but I would wait for some more content$ and some fixes/updates if not.
I hope they will improve the service mode to be a little more like a career mode. Scenarios and tutorials are nice.
The game sounds promising and is a really nice base to start a new fresh trainsim playground, too bad they will certainly go crazy again on DLCs numbers and prices.
Anyway, should I mention I enjoy the game ? ...
Nah nvm, too obvious
