Like the thread title says - i bought a new 1060 and when sitting for a minute in desktop windows restarts the video card because the driver stopped responding.
I read some threads on the problem and the fixes are : change the timeout to something more than 2 seconds or turn off this whole goddamned thing.
Turning it off seems potentially dangerous in the future. Another suggestion i read (but not yet tested) is that gfx card fan profiles cause it (windows thinks "it be mighty dead").

Facts are: gfx card does its job, games work without a hitch (u use mouse+kb all the time so there is no problem) but leaving firefox or even watching a video for 1-2 minutes without using keyboard or mouse makes the "driver crash" even though i can clearly see it render video.

Before i check if the fan profile helps (after i finish work) - anyone has a experience in this matter or, hopefully, a solution?

Thanks in advance.

PS. The card is new, i checked the newest and earlier nvidia drivers - no luck.

Fucking nvidia/windows/gigabyte*

Moved to hardware zone.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
