Just finished building my rig on a budget (see signature for specs). SLi is amazing. Glad I was able to grab an older, but SLi-enabled mobo. It was a pain to fit everything in a micro mobo/case, but its been working fine. No freezes. Next I will upgrade my 1080p, 21.5'' monitor to a higher resolution and atleast 24''.

What did you have before and isn't the X6 consuming too much power?

Luckily I've already bought all the new hardware that I needed, even though I'd definitely need a new hard disk...but the current prices don't help. Next step would be to finally buy myself a smarter phone than the one that I have. soon.jpg Razz

*summons thread*

I made some investement in my home network and media playing future today.
I need to put that Gigabit LAN to use.

I tried to spend not too much, since we're a bit low on money at the moment.

So I bought the following:

NAS Synology DS216j + 2TB WD Red (will need suffice at first)

It will take all my music, the pictures and the movies. (I mostly delete those anyway after watching them, so I dont really need that much space.)

I'm also planning on having my private cloud, since we got 200/100mbit internet. I also plan on beeing able to stream movies from my home server to my Laptop or iPad.

4000GB WD Elements Desktop (External storage, will be attached to the NAS when needed. Purely for backup.)

And for the entertainment part:

Intel NUC Kit NUC6i3SYH
16GB HyperX Impact DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM CL13 Dual Kit
120GB Patriot Blast 2.5"
(used solely for streaming, so cheap SSD will suffice)
Logitech Harmony Ultimate One

I'm planning on using it with kodi on Windows 10 and as an emulation box. So I'll probably dual boot into retroarch or some such.

Anyways, some nice fiddling and installing times ahead. Very Happy

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Bought 60GB SSD for my Second Desktop just for OS. Have 3TB HDDs in it already.
Recently bought GTX 1070 in my main Desktop and moved the GTX 970 to my second Desktop.

Also bought my self 9 inch Dual boot tablet (Win 10/Android 5.1) with keyboard case and bluetooth mouse. Hoping to get my ultimate travel buddy. 7 inch is too small to be networking while on the road.
