great, another useless sticky, this time for denuvo, like we needed another one. Whose bright idea was that?

We actually discussed that during the redesign, there are way too many. Some could easily be consolidated, and some could easily be removed. Example: Why is "=Gamersinformant.com - Daily Gaming News=" still there? It was an ad for someone's friend, now it hasn't had a reply in 2 years and the site itself has been down for months. Teamspeak, pretty much the same thing.

I put up a sticky in the gaming section to clarifly our rule about the denuvo talk since that went out of hand several times. This should be helpful to certain users who didnt seem to understand said ruling.

Now some gentlemen needed to use the DeusEx thread to voice their disapprovement with said sticky. So instead of deleting their off-topic posts I gave them a thread.

This thread may inspire some of us to use some of their free time to put some order in the old stickies.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It's best to have the community as a whole decide what remains useful and what is not needed anymore.
I propose we create a thread where people can vote. Make sure to sticky it in the Gaming section so no one misses it.

I'm actually glad this came up. Expect a smaller sticky cleanup sometime in the next days.

You may not use the TS server, but there are plenty of humpers who do, so why exactly is that sticky useless? Smile

@Couleur: well done, indeed the whole D-related train needed some redirecting. Razz Our rin associates had to do the same as far as I can tell, one would be led to believe that this sort of stuff doesn't need additional ruling but alas, it's a daily occurrence.

@Paul: Haha Very Happy. Alternatively, we could 'merge' the Teamspeak thread with the 'Find NFOHumpers for gaming session' one (we can't actually do proper merging because of dat vintage php Crying or Very sad), by changing the title and adding your post as well. Just a random idea, but yup, we'll definitely do something about this crowded, sticky situation Me Gusta
(I was away for a couple of days, still need to catch up with..everything)

edit: and indeed, the Gamersinformant or whatever that is will have to go Laughing

Why was that gamesinformant crap in there in the first place? Wasn't that basically advertising (which I think is forbidden by the forum rules)? Confused

We don't need a "quickly made up thread to show someone actually moderates" just because you felt hurt that many people said the Denuvo discussion ALWAYS leads to useless derailing.

It's simply true, but whatever, go ahead and let the shit train raid on every game:

"DOES IT USE THE D?"

"CAN I HAZ THE D?"

"DENUVO SUCKS"

"CRACK THIS BIATCH"

"DENUVO ROCKS, YOU JUST MAD YOU CAN'T PAY"

"REPOST NO. 5"

"GUIZE, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT D?"*

*(inserting literally the same discussion into EVERY game's pre release thread)

etc. Roflcopter and such.

@ixigia Well except that RIN does it right. They banned like every single Denuvo discussion without base because it's stupid (just like I said in the Deus Ex thread).

The thing I really miss from my torrent sites... the ability to have a description (or in this case a first post) opened up so anyone or a specific user class could edit it with: Fixes, Mod info, Patch info, re-do the template... It would rid a few unused forum sections... A first post could be so much more valuable and save me from using that archaic search engine or my mind forgetting about some good posts.

Ah well, that's just a dream for Hump 2.0 a more mature and improved version. Sad Razz

@Morphineus inb4 penis edits and thread raids. That would be "Mad Max" territory on forum levels.

Nope, it lacks refinement, a lot of it at that. I'll still call the Denuvo bullshit out at any time. Whether you like it or not.

You reported people talking about denuvo or people asking whether this or that game used denuvo. I already explained the difference to you before yet you seemed to still get annoyed at those talks so I pointed you to the rule by a simple quotation of your post.

The closing of that thread must be obvious, at least I suppose it would be if the poll mentioned your name as the mocking subject instead of someone elses. Also power abuse.

Because it was crap and you know it! It gets asked every time and reposted often enough. If that's the only stuff to read about specific games then that's simply sad. You also closed a thread from pax that was trying to provoke me, but I didn't report it nor did I want it closed. So much for the analogy. If you start doing this then you may as well just fuck the void and close it.
