Hi guys,

I have this weird problem. At the moment I'm using windows 8.1 on my Asus Laptop and I have a yellow sign on the windows 10 free upgrade icon next to the clock. When I click on it it says 'Unfortunately this device can't operate windows 10' right of the screen it says there is a compatibility problem. When I click on the report it states that the issue is 'Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows' and that it won't work after upgrading to windows 10.

I have uninstalled Cisco VPN but the problem persists. I even tried forcing it to update, but after downloading the necessary files and asking for me to give permission to upgrade to Windows 10 the laptop restarts and it shows a failure for updating.

On the internet I have read that setting windows system to factory settings will solve the issue, but I don't have a windows cd and it seems that usually when you do a reset to factory settings it asks for a windows cd.

So guys since there is only 2 days left of the free upgrade, how can I fix this problem? I would really appreciate your help!

might even some 3rd party av solution which causes that

but do it clean: just backup your stuff and get a image and reinstall windows clean from a stick. just enter your 8.1 key in the setup, done

doenst make a difference, its all the same. doesnt matter if you mount an image an run the setup, or use the mediacreationtool to force the upgrade on a system or using windows update. every way is the exact same way, same files and maybe same errors

Hi Janz, as I said in my first post I can't do a clean instal because I don't have the necessary tools for it. Is there anything else you can suggest?

Thanks Oddmaker. I have downloaded it, this tool says that my laptop is compatible. It is in the process of downloading windows 10, lets see how it goes Smile Hopefully it won't encounter problems.

you need to upgrade/clean install (with entering your old key during setup) with internet access afterwards once

downloading the image via mct doesnt do anything for digital licensing
