Hello guys,
So, time is slowly coming for a new system upgrade. The current one is fine and will continue to do fine, but, I have the tradition to change MB, CPU and RAM with every new CIV game
So, I've started to do the research on what's new in the market.
And, my first question would be the MB.
I've using ASUS MB since always. Current one is a Maximus V Formula, which is great for playing with different settings.
Now, would be wise to change / upgrade to the new X99 chipset?
And, I'm looking for other good and solid options for MB, main requisite is that it has to be sold here, as I don't want to mess with warranties elsewhere.
So, what do you guys think of the following MB:
1) GA-X99-Gaming G1 WIFI
2) MSIĀ® M/B Intel X99A Gaming 7 (2011-3)
3) AsusĀ® M/B Intel X99-Deluxe U3.1(2011-3)
No other models than those here. That Asus card is very expensive, compared to all my previous ones.
Any advice? Keeping in mind that I'm not sure to finally go with this new chipset....
Thnx guys

wouldn go for x99. if you want a modern system (dunno what you are using atm) get a skylake i7 k and a z170 mobo.
though if you have atleast a 2500k its useless, overclock it and you are still good to go. improvements to a new i7 skylake arent worth the money you will need to pay for a new system

Done a quick research and it seems X99 isn't the best choice atm for gaming.
As Janz says, a Z170 chipset should run fine and for a 30% cheaper price on good components.
The MAXIMUS VIII EXTREME caught my attention.

You're paying a lot of money for looks. Why not interest yourself in a somewhat cheaper mobo and more ram?
R7 2700x @4GHz / MSI B450 Tomahawk / beQuiet! Dark Rock 4 / 32GB @3000 MHz / MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z / Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Western Digital 1TB / Fractal Design Meshify C Dark / SuperFlower Leadex Gold 650W / DELL whatever 27 inch IPS
