With the new router I picked up (Archer C7). I started running a 5GHz 802.11 AC wireless signal. According to the specs, it should be capable of pushing 1300Mbps....

I am curious about testing the actual transfer rate on my LAN.

Anyone know of any applications I could use to test this? I know I could just transfer files over my LAN... but still.... anything like this exist?

I found an app on ios called wi-fi sweetspots... but I do not trust it. Says I am doing around 250Mbps.

You'll never get 1300 Smile

And benchmarks like this are in an ideal, controlled environment. 250 Mbps does sound a bit on the low side though.

Yeah I figured 1300Mbps wouldn't be possible (at least not yet anyway).

250Mbps was what this wifi sweetspots app said, but I don;t know how legit these benchmarks actually are.

Read something about iperf a while ago, might check that out again.
