While we visited Pisa, we had one of the best icecream ever (gelateria De'Coltelli). Loved every bits of Pisa, be sure you experience it on foot. If you have time, take a quick trip to Marina di Pisa on the seaside - fantastic.

That.
If you can, drive to Firenze and stay there for a night. And then from there to Pisa the next day.
Bologna <> Firenze and Firenze <> Pisa aren't long drives, but they're good ones (bit over an hour in both cases). And Firenze kind of requires a day to even begin to appreciate though, that city is absolutely amazing. Then driving back to Bologna from Pisa can easily be done on that 2nd day, it's only a couple of hours
I would suggest not speeding on those bits of freeway though
Edit: as for around Lago di Garda:
- Sirmione (southern end) is quite nice
- Bardolino has some amazing tiny little restaurants; when you go from Bardolino towards Affi on the biggest road there (look at Google Maps, it's easy to spot ), about 1km up the hill on the right side there was a tiny place that has amazing pizza. If it's still around that is.
- Affi in fact is probably a good one for the mrs. when it comes to shopping
- The best bit is way up north though. Find a place called Ville del Monte (such an original name for a town, such artists ) and drive a little further up the mountains from there. There's a lake up there that is just amazing. Crystal clear water and 99% of the time there's absolutely no wind or anything up there, so the lake itself is basically a mirror.
Wait...you've only got 9 days

Damn, you guys know Italy better than I do
As weird as it sounds, I've never had the chance to visit Ezio's Venice, although I've been in many other cheap non-touristic places near the city that I would not recommend xD
As the fellow Humpers have said, you really should see other parts of Tuscany if you have time (San Gimignano, Siena, Firenze etc.), the roads around these parts aren't exactly amazing but good enough. The sexy environments make up for it!
Ferrara and Verona are beautiful too, it's a shame that Rome is too far from where you're staying, because that would be worth to be thoroughly visited despite the insane chaos (at least two/three days are required though).
Whatever you decide to do, have fun!

Spent the honeymoon in Italy, we visited Pisa, Firenze and then went to San Gimignano to experience Tuscany in all it's splendor.
