While that was pretty damn well made, it's a damn shame they didn't create the whole intro up to the point where you're in control.

Only a few scenes looked cool, the rest looked like a cheap animated series.

I loved it. The animated characters felt a little too drawn but otherwise, very well done. I bet Tim Schafer is wanking off in his sock puppet over this.

Replay incoming.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It won't do anything...
That won't accomplish anything...

The game blew my mind when I first played it, the atmosphere was so gripping, also thanks to the great score. Wish companies like Wadjet Eye would embrace classic sci-fi again (we had Primordia and Stasis recently, but the mood and style were very different).

You know, i had never played this before and i started last night. I am going to finish it, but it was immensely disappointing. It was a brilliant start of the game, absolutely amazing. I loved the part in space. But then came the main point of the game. It just feels somewhat.. generic in it's design..

The game originally got criticism for being "too normal" - it came after Full Throttle and reviewers were expecting another crazy adventure but The Dig is probably the most "based" adventure they made - nothing too crazy, realistic characters & graphics, solid interface and pretty standard puzzles.
I loved it, though. Some of the puzzles are a little abstract (and those rods made me go crazy before I had a walk-through) but I still consider it one of LucasArts' best adventure games.

Using walkthrough here. Cba this try everything for hours until something finally works approach. Problem is finding a spoiler free walkthrugh. I can't fathom what imbeciles write these walkthroughs. You want pointers in how to proceed, not have the author spoil every fucking thing that happens.

Well, i'm finished with the game now. It was pretty disappointing, but it was probably great at the time. I just didn't like ANY of the characters. Uhh ohh was the first thing i thought when Brigs started becoming difficult on the new world, and sure as the sun rises, he turned out as the bad guy in the story. The protagonist was especially hard to like. His sarcasm was bad. Really bad. He sounded genuine and it didn't sound like sarcasm at all, yet it was perceived as such by the characters. And he was all bark but no bite. Let himself get robbed, and almost beat to death in a really lame way after talking high and mighty about him being a military badass and Brigs wouldn't stand a chance
Well, it sure as hell had it's faults, but it still kept me playing to the end, so it had something.
Now onto Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis. I think that one should be good as long as they didn't write a terribly boring story.
