The best hand animations in first-person games
Let's give these games a hand.
Quote:
Be it reloading a gun, using magic powers, pushing a button, or even just picking up everyday objects and throwing them at innocent NPCs, well-crafted hand animations are one of the most important elements in first-person games. Sure, VR promises us more immersion, but for my money a good set of videogame hands trumps just about everything else in making me feel less like a hovering camera and more like a real, living person. Except in a videogame.

- Half-Life

- Firewatch
- The Darkness 2
- Bioshock Infinite
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- Battlefield Hardline
- Alien Isolation
- Mirror's Edge

Yeah not a fan of over the top shit like that. Though in fairness at least it's a very rare thing to happen so the approach isn't too bad.

I do think a few they picked aren't really great though. CoD and Mirror's edge stood out... wasn't impressed.

That being said with all their lists: I bet they overlooked quite a bunch of games and just went with some popular ones.

Haha, I remember the first time I saw the idle animation of holding those scarab creatures, where it tries to bite him Very Happy

Those animations were great for the time.

Animators worked hard on some of the special reloads for Battlefield Hardline, but few players have seen them firsthand. That's because these Easter egg animations only have a 1-in-10,000 chance of playing.

Thankfully, we've got YouTube so the lucky players who actually get to see these animations can share them with the rest of us.

wanna see some cool stuff, get the fuck outta here, youtube has it Laughing
making something out of nothing, i wish they worked hard on the actual gameplay and storyline so everyone could enjoy it Rolling Eyes
