Description:

The Golf Club is HB Studios’ next generation golf simulation. Stunning visual presentation and outstanding gameplay are to be expected but what really takes The Golf Club into the next generation is the procedural generation of courses and depth of social interaction. The Course Creator can generate a brand new course in seconds which can be shared and played immediately online with friends and other gamers across PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC. There are also full editing capabilities for courses, Tournaments and Tours. Challenge your friends on a new or existing course in real time or try to beat their best recorded round. Add to this a myriad of stat tracking and personal bests of friends and rivals to beat, notifications, challenges and social media integration and you truly have a golf club worth joining.

Release Date: Spring 2014 (21st March-21st May)

Gameplay Trailer:

Course Designer Video: http://thegolfclubgame.com/2014/01/11/intro-to-the-course-creator-2/

Game Features:

INTUITIVE CONTROL SYSTEM
We’ve created and fine tuned a swing mechanic that is more about feeling and fluidity above the users’ accuracy of hitting a marker on a power bar. Whilst anyone will be able to pick the controller up and play comfortably, the best players on the global leaderboards will be those with the best feel for the different golf shots and who are able to take into account ball lie, weather and terrain conditions.
INSTANTANEOUS GAMEPLAY
No loading times between holes means you are straight back on the Tee after sinking your putt on the previous green. Also, minimal loading times into a new course make for a refreshing change to your typical console game.
UNLIMITED COURSES
No more getting bored of the courses given to you by the developer. With four clicks you can generate a unique course never seen before that’s ready to play.
GENERATE COURSES
With four clicks of a button from the main menu the game will generate for you a never been played before course. The variation is infinite!
If you don’t like the course that’s been generated, one click and you can generate a new one.
If you want to tailor the courses a little more there are high-level options available to you. Examples of these are the number of holes, par distribution, fairway width, number of bunkers, green size, green slope and rough coverage.
EDIT AND CREATE YOUR OWN COURSES
If you have a particular course in mind, want to use your creative skills to create something from scratch or edit something the generator has created for you the game also has an in-depth editor.
The editor gives you the ability of create from scratch or mould anything on the course. You can alter the terrain, move tees, move greens, move holes, delete holes, add holes, bunkers, rivers, ponds, trees, foliage, buildings, animals and other objects.
During editing you can play the ball from any spot to review holes and make changes as you see fit. The minimal loading times make this practical and enjoyable.
LARGE SELECTION OF PRE-DESIGNED COURSES SHIPPING WITH THE GAME
Courses for all skill levels and utilizing the best of HB’s creative talents will ship with the game. They can be played individually but will also make up the tournament itinerary for the pre-designed Tour that also comes with the game.
ONLINE SHARING AND PLAY
Play others creations - work your way through the huge database of user created courses, each rated by other users to help make the decision easy to make.
Share your courses with the World – when you’re happy with your creations you can publish them for the rest of the world to play.
Play against others live or from the past - each round you play on every course is saved Online. Choose from Friends Rounds, Record Rounds or Rivals Rounds (others players close to your ability) to compete against. Their ghost balls and scores will be visible throughout your round giving you the feeling of competition without losing the instantaneous game play. Ghost and live balls can be hidden if so desired either selectively or en masse.
Compete in Tours and Tournaments – play against other players throughout the world in user made tours and tournaments.
Watch others play the courses you’re on live – through our Echo Ball System you can see other users from around the world on the course that you are playing live, even if they’re on different holes.
TOURS AND TOURNAMENTS
Create and share Tours and Tournaments made up of your favourite courses to test your friends’ or players worldwide over a number of rounds and courses.
These can be Time Constrained or Indefinite. You can choose a start and end date with just one entry per player or, if your tournament or tour is indefinite, you can allow players to enter as many times as they want to try and get to the top of the leaderboard.

Yep, I'm actually looking forward to this one. Razz It's been a while since we've had the chance to play a decent golf game on PC. The recent-ish Tiger Woods "games" were just as messy and train-wreck'd as Tiger's private life.

Man, it's been a long time since a good golf game was on the PC. But it seems like every freakin year there's a demo of a new damn promising looking golf game and then they never appear. Hopefully this one shows!

We’re excited to announce that The Golf Club will be coming to Steam! We wanted to ensure that we delivered the best experience for PC gamers and Steam allows us to do that. We’ll be announcing information very soon about the closed beta which will take place on Steam. After that closed testing period we are planning to open up the game as an Early Access on Steam. This will allow everyone who wants to start playing early to get access to the game before it’s finished!

There’s a lot of potential for future development via Steam – in terms of Steam Workshop integration or SteamOS and controller support. We’re really excited to be on the platform and can’t wait to get the game into everyone’s hands.

I like the fact that most of the devs listed Links 386 as their major influence. I put so many hours into the Links games. And one even listed Leaderboard for the C64 - another game I sunk some time into. I'm looking forward to this as long as they don't try to turn it into some pseudo MMO crap. I just want to be able to fire it up and play some golf without forced online fucktard "community" features.

It's the best golf simulation ever. The swing mechanics and the physics are impressive. The graphics are exceptional. Add to all these a full course editor and custom generated courses. The price is just right. And guys this is not a simple early access. It's almost a fully featured beta.
The game still has a Spring 2014 release.

The.Golf.Club.Early.Access-ALI213

I didn't test it though if it works because I have bought it. Plenty of triggers in the protected dll's. Maybe ALI213 managed to bypass those.

Update: Guys at the well known russian forum confirm that it works. There is also update 1 there for anynone interested.

I think this is supposed to be free on the PS4 for PSN + members so i will eventually get it there but in the meantime i'm gonna try this early access.

I always liked golf games , from Link to Hot Shot Golf to Tiger Woods so hopefully this is quality as well. I play those when i just wanna chill and play something at a slower pace.

load time is 10-15 secs (after TGC logo) on a normal mechanical drive, something very wrong on your end i imagine

I just did some early access ISOdemoing and I agree, the game is well-made. It's still very unoptimized (nearly unplayable on High, and anything below that makes the game look pretty bad, classic Unity Razz), but it's fun without reinventing the wheel or anything like that of course. Can be played with both mouse/kb and gamepad, and it's not too easy either since swinging correctly requires practice (I suck at the moment Laughing)

Some screens to give an idea:

Everything maxed up here and running smooth Wink apart from menu's taking long to load, but that may have something to do with present fix Razz Swing takes a bit of getting used too, and putting can be a nightmare to gauge, all in all, it looks the part, with some nice touches here and there. Commentary can become a little irritating after a while. Smile

Haha yeah, the guy is kinda soothing but repetitive. I love the "d'oh!" after I miss the easiest putt though Laughing

Any way of tweaking the game or at least putting it in fullscreen mode? Update...nevermind, found it in the launcher "windowed mode was ticked"

And wow....the greens made of glass?

But, finally a golf game that I don't have to P2P or join a country club to enjoy.
