Dead Rising 4 Poster and Gameplay Images Leaked, Might be a Remake of Dead Rising 1
Quote:
Two days ago we reported that Dead Rising 4 is in development at Capcom Vancouver and may, or may not, have an exclusivity deal and that Dead Rising 4 will indeed feature at this year’s E3 and will “make fans of the series happy”. Today, we can update that with images that were sent to us that might give us our first look at Dead Rising 4.
The game is rumoured to be a complete remake of the first game with co-op added as well as online functionalities. Fans of the franchise might also recognize Frank West in the first image, lending itself to the veracity of these images. As always, we’ll update this article as and when we hear more on the game.]
NeoGaf insider Ekim put in his own two cents on the leak:
New information has emerged that the game will come to Windows 10 PC alongside the Xbox One release as a Windows Store exclusive. Frank West will mark his return as the protagonist, but Capcom Vancouver also added a four player co-op allowing three friends to join the frantic action playing as previous characters from the game such as Chuck, Nick and Annie.
State of Decay 2? Hah, that'll be the day.. haven't Undead Labs pissed themselves into the grave by now after their MMO-thing-hybrid flopped harder than a cow turd?
Online? I guess they're talking about Class4 then? UL once mentioned they had plans for SoD "Online" but as an unnamed title codenamed Class4. I don't think UL is even profitable for MS at this point, and the staggering level of hostility and pushback over the expensive YOSE "patch" and then the failed Moonrise, I'm legitimately surprised MS even cares about the company enough to give them more money.
~edit~
Anyway, this is the Dead Rising 4 thread - and whether it's a new game in the DR world or a full on remake of DR1, I'd be most pleased! Thoroughly enjoyable series of games

Haha yup! Likewise, I'd be fine with both. Actually, I would almost prefer a remake of the first one since it was never released on PC *shakes fist*
Not shocking since DR3 was xbone exclusive at first, however I assume Capcom will be able to put out a steam release after a certain amount of time has passed (like with DR3)
NO LINKS TO ILLEGAL STUFF IN SIGS - DLC IS ILLEGAL TOO
If its not as abysmal as DR3,i will buy it. Basically,if they just released game after game after game with jumps like DR2-->DR2:OTR it would be enough for me to buy them, really.
I´m simple minded regarding that

And yet we never saw first one on pc...best one of those games. My fav zombie game.

The screenshots graphics look really bad at times.
Well they upped the zombie density pretty heavily in Dead Rising 3, especially towards the last couple of days when there's basically a massive horde throughout the entire city.
I guess they had to scale a few things back for that to work on consoles even next-gen systems.
(It also has a pretty aggressive LOD scaling if I remember it right.)
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
E3 2016: Dead Rising 4 Feels Bigger, Bolder, and Bloodier Than Ever
Quote:
From everything I saw and played, Capcom Vancouver has tapped the vein of what makes Dead Rising its own refreshingly unique take on the zombie game, and is poised to deliver another shot in the arm when the next chapter of the series launches “holiday 2016.”
For example, in Dead Rising 4 you’ll get your hands on an exoskeleton, which is essentially power armor. Though it’s got a limited battery life, wearing power armor basically turns you into an unstoppable man-version of The Hulk. Your punches turn zombies into ropes of crimson gore and pink mist. You can pull parking meters and street signs out of the ground, swinging them wildly with devastating effects. You send cars flying with a punch, kick, or simply ramming them. And best of all, your added strength let’s you hoist mega-weapons like an oversized chain gun or flamethrower.
And Dead Rising 4 will welcome four-player cooperative play to complete missions and tear through the horde with friends, or join a quick match and enter a game in progress with randomly matched players.
For example, one of the user-feedback-related changes was to make the streets more friendly for vehicles, which should make driving your electrified ATV’s and flaming zombie catapult jeeps that much more enjoyable across the roomier roads.
And that’s not the only change. Capcom Vancouver studio head Joe Nichols was quick to confirm that the outrageous psychos of the previous games weren’t going to be so outrageous this time around. Psychos are still there, but the “insane, transgender bodybuilding psychos” that a large portion of the community didn't like, have been replaced by more believable, less eccentric people that are just struggling to cope with the situation.
Lastly, there are the evolved zombies known as “EVOs," which have developed a resistance, or mutation, to the virus, but not enough to stop from turning, and are therefore incredibly capable at chasing down photographers named Frank with tactics and superhuman(zombie) abilities.
“They’re like the raptors in Jurassic Park,” said Nichols. “They’ll work together to herd you somewhere. They’ll let the the horde wear you down and then they’ll come in and get you.” And in addition to those smarts, they’re fast, they’re strong, and they can jump 30 feet high. Though EVOs weren't in the demo I played, Nichols description of super-zombies sounds like an effective way to temper Frank's all-new arsenal of powerful tools.
Similar to Battlefield Hardline or Arkham Knight, Dead Rising 4 has various camera modes that you’ll need to use to uncover clues and evidence. You’ll snap a picture of a dead body, then swap over to the spectrum analyzer and find a bloody trail that leads out the door and toward the next clue. Frank’s more detective than ever before, and it seemed like a great new tool to help bolster the narrative.
''... insane, transgender bodybuilding psychos” that a large portion of the community didn't like...''
Oh goody, another studio listening to the whiny minority.
When will studios grow a pair and stop appeasing these first world cucks who think whining about characters in games means they're social activists on the same level as MLK, Rosa Parks, and others who dealt with serious issues?
This series is known for it's outrageous psychos; cutting that element because the little snowflakes are offended by an obese woman on a scooter, or a tranny who's crazy, is compromising its unique identity.
Just tell them to fuck off.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
apparently there is 1 year MS exclusivity ... so maybe thatř means steam version in 2017

Some things I learned talking to a Capcom Vancouver rep:
1. They will not be talking exact resolution nor framerate at E3, but frame rate is already improved from DR3.
2. Game is already running more zombies on screen than DR3.
3. There will be more variety of zombies than DR3.
4. DR4 uses improved version of DR3 engine. Development started 8 months after finishing DR3.
5. Capcom Vancouver is developing, MS is pubilishing. 1 year exclusive with MS. Slightly different deal than DR3

"'Dead Rising 4' on Xbox One is developed by Capcom and will be published in partnership with Microsoft. Fans will be able to play 'Dead Rising 4' first on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC this December. It will remain a Windows 10 exclusive for the first 90 days and console exclusive on Xbox One for one year. We’ve had a close and longstanding relationship with Capcom including the launch of Dead Rising as an Xbox 360 exclusive and Dead Rising 3 as an Xbox One exclusive.
