If I move images on my phone to a different folder on the same phone, will google re-upload the image into the google cloud?

from what I can tell, it doesn't duplicate the same images.
I've done all sorts of copying, factory resets + same sd card, plug phone into computer, etc. but I don't see any duplicates.
it was way worse when it backed up 1000+ pics of the fappening by accident since deleting is not that easy!

Just add .nomedia in the folder you're moving to, that way it completely omits it unless you use a 3rd party app such as quickpic to find the folder or add it manually into any app.

Thank you guys!
@nouseforaname: If you delete the picture in the google photos app it should delete it on phone and the cloud, shouldn't it? I have a ton of stupid porn pics in my whatsapp images.
Strangely enough I just saw that there is a device folder link and when I clicked that one I saw that only my camera folder had a cloud backup symbol... but in that view I can't see which files need a cloud backup and which ones don't.
Also this stupid app doesn't display any symbol at top to notify me if it is currently synching or not and I don't even know which file it is currently backing up, how fast it is or similar stuff

It should and does, however some apps (samsungs gallery apps) still has a thumbnail in it's cache (I would think) for a short amount of time (or at least til you clear cache of the app).

So I moved some images to a different folder and I also told google to keep them in sync too... Sadly it started to reupload them into the cloud. I was hoping that it would do a hash check and understand that these are different pictures but sadly that wasn't the case

It will not sync all on the phone even if you want to?

There is, as far as I can tell, currently no method of syncing photos back to your phone from Google. You have to browse your photos page online and download each one manually ... I had that nightmare a few months back trying to recover over 1100 photos. In the end I went to the Google Photos website on the PC and shift-selected batches to download in ZIP files.
Fuck Google in the ass for this one. Right in the ass.

Download quickpic, add your picasa/drive to it and then touch and drag over the multiple photos you want to download.
It is however silly that they didn't add a feature where you can sync the photos onto your phone from their servers, which to me would be one of the first things implemented into their service.
