Hello guys, well I had a strange issue today.I was playing games on my pc and all of the sudden I heard that my gpu fan was getting a little but louder, I checked my temperatura with MSI Afterburner and saw that it hit 65 C which has never happened before. My GPU is Nvidia GeForce 640GT, so its not one of the warmest cards out there.I opened the case to see what the fuss was about and probably decided that it was time to clean it.I blew some dust off it since it was very late and I had no intensions of actually cleaning it at the very moment and decided to give it another go.I left the case open so I can check if everything is running okay and the thing I noticed was that when I start the PC, the GPU fan is starting to move for like 4/5 seconds but after that it stops.Everything else is okay, the temperatura when I start the pc is 29/30 C.I immediatly ran MSI Afterburn and set the fan manually to 100% to see if it's responding and all of the sudden its working, but the problem is I think that its only working when I put it on 100% and its hella loud and not so necessary all the time.So my question is what is the cause of all this, could it be that there is so much dirt that the fan has some trouble moving around, or is it gone and I should go get a new one, even without the fan the card is hitting 55 at most when gaming so for now thats not an issue but its still something that I want to figure out. Thanks in advance.
Well for starters obviously take it apart and clean it well, if that won't do it fans can and will crap out sooner or later so you could always just replace them too, not expensive at all. Or better yet, replace the GPU.
