I have recently changed over from HDMI feed to my monitor to a DP connection.

I needed to do this to use the Vive.

I noticed if the computer went to sleep, pressing a key or power button did not wake the computer. If i press the power button on the front of the computer it momentary flashes and goes out.
The exact same thing happens if i close down the computer from windows and try and boot up again with the front power key.

I retraced to the only thing that has changed and removed the DP connection. Hey presto! it will perform as it should when i remove the lead.

The Vive + software has also been completely removed.

I have to switch the power off at the mains and wait 5 seconds before it will power up again.

Anyone any ideas what the hell could be causing this?

Turns out it's an issue with my monitor Dell U2414H and DP inputs.

Quote:
This is clearly some kind of an issue with the monitor. People all over the world are having problems with DP connection on the U2414H. Moreover, two professional reviews talk about very strange and absolutely uncommon behavior of the U2414H, when it connected over DP.

People reported the Mini DP input is fine, i will buy a new lead Evil or Very Mad
