In ECHO everything has consequence: As you try to wield its magical technologies it becomes apparent that the Palace has a will of its own… It studies everything you do, everything you are – to use it against you.
The Palace creates Echoes – exact copies of you in every way. They behave like you and only do the things you do. So the way you play the game shapes your enemy. If you run, soon the Echoes will get faster. If you sneak, they will get stealthier. If you shoot, they will start to shoot back. The game constantly reacts to your every choice and input.
The Palace "reboots" every few minutes, resulting in a blackout. This blackout-cycle is the rhythm at which the "Echoes" get updated with your latest behavior, learning and unlearning from your actions. During the blackout the palace is blind, giving you the freedom to act without consequence. This is the time to run and gun and do all the things you don’t want the Echoes to learn.
The experience is one of being up against your own choices from the last blackout-cycle, giving you a way of shaping the game from cycle to cycle. It is up to you whether you prefer to keep a low profile or if you choose to go head on and deal with the consequences later – one thing is certain you need to keep your wits about you as you face the ultimate enemy: Yourself.

bet it wont live up to the promise though in a meaningful way. probably just has a bunch of tickboxes to fill - how long did player run, how long did player go unseen, how many kills, etc per 'round' and then gives the clones a gameplay type that corresponds to whatever tactic you used most...
The panther tagging & quick time events combo is a bit threatening, but the idea of an alternative sci-fi stealth is always interesting - although let's hope there's enough budget to grant consistently solid level design. *wishlists the isodemo*
I hope it will have better fps count then this trailer.

I was very curious and installed the isodemo, ending up completing the game in ~7 hours. It's a peculiar beast, but a fascinating one nonetheless. It alternates narrative-centric walking sim sections with stealth-oriented action ones (set in a mysterious futuristic retro world), the gameplay is always fairly simplistic and filled with restrictions/consolish features (don't expect complex stealth mechanics) and variety isn't the game's forte either since there is only one type of enemy, along with level design based on rinse-and-repeat.
All this would sound like a nightmare , but like a magician the game has a trick hidden up its sleeve, and it's a clever one: the levels have two repeating phases (lights on/lights off, it happens every few minutes) and every time the lights are on the AI has the ability to record the player's tactics and use them against him in the following round. When the light goes out there's no longer any recording and after a while the entire level reboots itself (including the enemies that regenerate themselves). It's a stationary approach, a veery basic one, but it works..sort of
Going Rambo-style isn't recommended since the player has limited action points for shooting, so the result is surprisingly strategic despite the superficial stealth (the enemies unfortunately also come with the perception of a roasted pheasant). Ultimately, the best option is to...just keep strolling in a smart way avoiding the AI's paths and performing takedowns every now and then.
The voice acting is competent (the protagonist sounded so very familiar, turns out she was Rose youknownothing Leslie herself xD), the visuals are solid and there were no performance problems for me. The actual story/dialogues are intriguing too, but they remain too volatile so to speak and the final minutes can be baffling. All in all, I'd say it's worth a try, the game doesn't offer anything too remarkable in terms of gameplay, but the really unique atmosphere and the rudimentary AI learning are good reasons to experience it.
@ixigia
Thanks for the review!
When i only looked at the screenshots and a few videos, i feared it wouldn't really offer that much. But seems it's not the case.
