hi guys i got a laptop here and i want to install windows 7 (vista now)
it is a legal windows 7 but the problem is that there is a password on the bios and i cannot boot the disk.
This has worked on every laptop that I've serviced, even new models. However, if a drive is protected at a bios level, for security, you cannot unlock the drive (this is put into place in case the drive is stolen).
if the hdd protection is active there is no way to access the harddrive without knowing the password. you will have to replace it. if its just the simple bios protection -> remove the battery or google if the laptop has some soldering points which can be shortcircuit to reset it
