So some talk in the GPU thread started some conversation about routing purchases through me to get better prices to you guys on hardware etc.

Stige is taking up testing it out to see how it goes, costs, savings, time it takes etc to see if it's worth it. I believe he'll be ordering smaller car parts.

I read something from Sabin that some sellers in China strip things of all manufacture packaging to make it "not new"? To get by the VAT?

Anyone wanna elaborate a little more on that?

Take random box mark it as 2nd hand/spare parts. The deception works better because it's not packed with new looking box/manuals. Anything in a sealed box and bag will just give it away.
Wouldn't work well if you'd want a profit out of it by selling to strangers since they want all the stuff that comes with it, for humpers in the case of a GPU I think they'll be fine with just the GPU nicely packed without manuals/cd/Useless connectors

That's what I was thinking. I'm part of shipping/receiving at work among other departments so I have access to stuff to keep things from flopping around so not having the original boxes is no issue.

Well Stige ordered a buttload of car parts.

Box was 36"x11"x11" and weighed 36 pounds and is costing 128ish to ship to Finland.

Which...in all seriousness for that weight, that's not a whole lot.

So for those that wanted something light like a video card, should be less than half that maybe?
