I used to be much better than the average 12 year old back when I was at that age, won the school tourney two years in a row against kids that were forced to play chess by their parents
Laughing

I then didn't really play for decades but picked it up a month ago, I am playing on chess.com and with the Lucas Chess engines (that whore Irina)

Only played a little and once I beat a class mate (who was at kings rank) at 1am in the morning. I never gave him the opportunity for a re-match because he would've destroyed me (as he did several times before)

Nope. I did when I was a child, last time must have been 24 years now. My grand uncle was the only one in my family (that I knew of and visited) that played it. So asked him to teach me. Stopped playing when he died.

I tried to practice a couple of years ago, but I didn't really have the patience for that game.
I've always liked Go more anyway. It's much more simple... and yet much more complex at the same time Very Happy
