whenever I find myself browsing "scene" forums like nforce, vcdq, etc, I keep noticing dorks copying+pasting from irc nukes and fakes in their posts, under the pretense that their particular shitty predb/nukenet IS undisputed and universal to the scene, and then, since they don't have the access to back up this information they've tragically been exposed to, they're constantly misinformed and bitching and moaning and asking retarded questions that they obviously wouldn't be asking if they had taken a look at the actual release or had any involvement in the core scene itself. PEOPLE, if you think posting ::Nuked::um.it.crashes.on.my.comp:: in response to some iso game help thread makes you look like you have any credibility at all, you're very much mistaken. In fact, such meaningless trollish posts tells us you're an ignorant, desperate wannabe who's looking for social fulfillment in an online piracy circle, and failing at that .
So here's the lesson: if you're NOT actually involved in the scene (and no- random sm servers, irc distros, bitorrent sites etc etc do not count)... and you get a significant amount of your group/scene news from these forums or from other dorks in your same situation, DO NOT try to talk out of your ass about issues/rlses you know NOTHING about. It doesn't work.
What really pisses me off about all of this is that it's evident that many of these guilty folks are competely oblivious to how rediculous they look to people with any such knowledge, the ones I can only assume they're trying to impress. Please get a life, there is nothing wrong with not having access (warez is nothing to be proud of), but it's just sad to see so many kids so pathetically and obviously struggling to experience this shallow distraction we call 'the scene' vicariously through a forum-- it's like watching a puppy with three legs play fetch.

Indeed they do. Thats their problem. Honestly, why would anyone care who writes that shit on here? Let them brag their pretime crap. It doesnt bother me. The people who have access to the scene know the truth behind the nukings of a release. The guy who started this thread is right though. The thing is I just dont care enough about the people who brag about pretimes to actually give a shit. If your high up, why waste your time correcting newbies? Fuck them. What I do is I completely ignore those posts.
I cant really say too much on the opinon of warez is nothing to be proud of. I'm sure the groups take pride in what they do. Nothing wrong with that. Usually people who are new to the scene find it interesting and exciting. But once your a seasoned vet, its same old routine over and over. The real lesson here is just to ignore prebot posts.

Oh how I like it when someone goes out and whines about people being lame, how "real eleets" behave, says they know better, and then proceeds to say "Oh, by the way, I'm not involved in teh scene at all".
"Teh seCNe" is full of self-righteous people, groups who bash eachother, and try to act holier-than-thou ... everyone keeps thinking it's like a big food-chain, where the "reAL el3et" are the ones at "the tOP".
The thing is, it isn't. This "scene" people speak of, is a bunch of people, some who are rather intelligent, and then a bunch who ... well... aren't - just as being a regular eDonkeh-client doesn't make you 3l11!63T!, Writing catchy long posts doesn't either, stupid people are everywhere, you had them in the groups most people revered (FLT, etc.).
In the end, it's all about individuals ... but hey, it's easy to bash everyone at i.e "NfOrcE (teH sUkCK)" - as if that made you larger than life.
The way I see it, anyone who is loudmouthed, and try and prove "his own worth" has only; really, shown his lack of it.
Those who are dedicated to provide something useful usually don't have time to bitch and moan, like we do. Nor do they have the time or inclination to care about who's better or worse.
To me, there is no real scene. "The scene" is just a stamp, created by those with too much time on their hands, representing something by words, rather than actions. "heY, LooK at USs! We H4x bettAH daN j00! We REEL SCENEleet!111one".
I like that guy who broke the DVD-protection scheme, and the iTunes-protection. He didn't need some hip-gansta-wannabe "crEW" to represent. He just delivered, without boring speeches (such as this one).
I do resent speeches, so partly I do resent myself for typing this. I'll admit my flaws though - most self-important people do not.

btw. the guy who broke the css and the itune thingy never had anything illegal on his sys when the feds came looking, apart from the css or itune crack. Thats one of the things that makes it even more funny for me as there are still peeps out there who really only do the cracking for the sake of making the world a better place and not only for personal gain...

I mean, hes a man now but at the time, when he made DeCSS (which i still have for historical sake  )he was a kid right? Thats what i remember reading.
And the FBI got some kinda special jurisdiction because css has something to do with america?
And as i recall, he was part of a RE group, but like lutz said, they did what they did for informational purposes only, not to profit or anything from "warez". Fuck, the name was really easy to remember too...damnit

Honestly, its more the people who actually come out saying shit like their stupid. Imagine most of the people who post here or anywhere on the internet about their leet pretimes/knowledge which implys their elite in some peoples minds/ anything about warez/ speeds. I think I know why you think that way though. Its because of those people. The majority of those people just use bit torrents, irc distros, or crappy 10mbit sites that their friends own. Well, considering we still got strong releases from each section of the scene, I'd say its alot of action. Sure, the PC scene isnt that great due to the protections. I also realize that what you read in info files about these flames, you dont exactly know what the real story is. I think we all make it out to be worse than it is, and the busts just add to it. The PC Games scene isnt the whole scene. I havent noticed anything wrong with the movie release scene, ei. DVDr/VCD/SVCD/Anime/DivX/ etc all that apply. Same goes for mp3 and consoles, etc. Sure, I've seen them bitch at nukers, but thats about it.
Is it really worth it in the end to sit here and bitch about the scene? Its going to take the direction its headed. One person is not going to change it. A whole bunch, than yea. But they'd have to be in the scene, and pretty much high up.

True, but theres gotta be some good people even in what little groups that do bash, and the group bashing I suppose makes the real people in that group look bad because of the bashing group to everyone here. But hey, since when do the people here have the right to have a say about group politics?

There's action, I never said there wasn't. What I'm saying is that the REAL scene is something other than writing shit (like we do here). It's something other than writing stories in NFO:s, bitching about this and that, trying to act up (etc.).

Naw, not all of them. Some. Cant always go by nfos either. Latest thing I've seen was mp3 groups bashing nukers, and that wasnt a group bashing. I'd be bitching to. Nukers are real lame when it comes to nuking mp3s. Also, there were no nfo files for that either. It was just random directories being flooded on buncha sites under say example; 0420
I just honestly think that because of the PC Game groups fighting with each other, people are making it out to be the whole scene is to. I can tell ya thats not the truth. And not all of it is public to read.
