Release Date: January 12, 2016
Quote:

A mysterious signal originating from the Tharsis region of Mars set us on a frantic mission. Who sent it? And why? Impossible questions, but in them lie the key to humanity’s survival.

Now, millions of miles away from home, a micrometeoroid storm has left us with a severely damaged ship, two deceased crew, and the sneaking suspicion this trip was doomed from the start.

Tharsis is a turn-based space strategy game. With dice. And cannibalism. It puts you in control of humanity’s first manned mission to Mars, just as it’s struck by a micrometeoroid storm. You must guide your crew through disasters, food shortages, and the unforgiving nature of space — all while maintaining your sanity amidst cryptic signals and warnings from Mars.

Defy the odds, make the difficult decisions, and embark on the most important mission in human history.

The game is pretty good. Some might say that is frustrating difficult because it mainly relies on RNG but I don't mind.

well as soon as he mentioned 'unlock other characters from different timelines', i feel like a lot of mystery about the game is gone. the message from mars is from your future self or fuggin whatever... once we hit timelines, i lost a big chunk of interest in uncovering the story...

So as revenge you decided to just spoil it for us too? Nice, Thanks :-(
Or is that something that's spoiled in the game? Who is "he" who spoiled that originally?

well its in gameplay preview footage (the third video in top post of this thread) narrated by the cofounder of the studio MAKING the game, so they mustn't consider it a spoiler given that its in an official demonstration video, which is why i therefore didnt' see it as a spoiler either. Just expressing that i get bored by those storylines... find them a little cheap.

BUT WHO KNOWS maybe im wrong, or if im right, maybe its revealed in a compelling way.. who knows.

i downloaded the game... shit is hard, yo. brutally hard. maybe later ill go back into it with a different mindset and tackle things differently but my first attempt i got murdered after 5 days.

Module gets damaged > assign crew to throw dice rinse repeat

Was interested in this game. Sadly i only realised at release, that every action you do is completely dependend on dice rolls.
Meh, i hate that kind of crap.

So the dice rolls aren't even influenced by skills or something?
Wow, ok, that sounds annoying.
I don't mind randomness up to FTL levels where it can definitely screw you over at times, but you can usually influence things in your favor (having the right crewmember/module for the job, picking options that will 100% give a neutral outcome like "just leave", etc)

This seems to have gone full random though. Never go full random.
