I just want my computer to go into some energy saving mode from which it can wake up quickly but even though I set the timers to 10 minutes, nothing happens. The computer stays on all day long What do?

Try powercfg -requests to see what prevents sleep. And REQUESTSOVERRIDE to disable specific driver/service.

Are you running torrents? I found that it won't go into a power saving mode if Tixati is downloading something. Try closing your torrent client.

maybe you got a virus or something preventing sleep mode?
are you able to go into sleep mode manually at all?

You have any odd (not things people usually have) plugged in?
Took me a while to figure out my moog USB keyboard (music not typing) was stopping mine from going into sleep mode. Hell it wouldn't even kick in the screen saver.
Unplugged it one day to move it and didnt plug it back in..bam it started going to screensaver/sleep again.

Try unhooking one of them, its a long shot that might work.
Reason I didn't know what mine was, is I have TONS of usb devices plugged in 99% of the time:
mouse, keyboard, steinberg external sound card, headphones, moog keyboard/controller, akai mid pad controller, snowball mic, steering wheel, guitar input, printer, external drive, phone.
Thinking about it, other than monitors and ethernet, everything I use connected to PC is USB. And didn't realize it was one of them until I unhooked the one that did it.
