Men, I've almost finished my Vampire TM Bloodlines Malkavian playthrough with the unofficial patch and now it's time for the original Fallout. I think I never finished it.

I found out an unofficial patch, it's called Fallout Fixt. It includes all other efforts previously made, so it's pretty comprehensive.

I attempted a play-through this summer with the idea of playing them all in a row until the release of FO4.

FO 1 & 2 are a lot of fun BUT they got a major flaw for me and that's the extremely random combat damage which makes fights seem more about chance than skill.

People complain about the smallest things when it comes to FO3 & FO4 but for some reason they're totally fine with one-shot-critical-hit-kills in FO 1 & 2 which you can do NOTHING about! Too many times I was forced to reload because a single round saw me take massive damage despite being in cover or wearing the best armor I could find up till then. The only solution: quicksave & quickload which might corrupt your saves too Evil or Very Mad

The music, the atmosphere, the characters and the RPG elements are great though. Shame combat isn't quite as good as people seem to remember. Give me FPS VAT combat any day ...
