It's been a little over a year since Google announced its Cardboard VR headset meant for the masses, and now YouTube will be updating its Android app to enrich Cardboard by adding two new VR features.

Although YouTube has supported 360-degree videos for quite some time, the new VR update will allow users to actually experience depth with supported videos. As you can imagine, this will bring a new level of experience to YouTube videos and VR headset owners. The second addition to Android's YouTube app will be the ability to watch any video on the service in VR. When the option is selected, it will shrink the video down and emulate a movie theater experience.

If you're interested in trying out Cardboard, head over the Google's Cardboard page and order or build your own headset. If you're looking for a less costly option, try eBay, where the Cardboard headset can be had for $2 USD.
