Is my only option to buy a motherboard without the shitty killer networking crap?

I am pretty sure every time this occurs is due to them networking drivers and it's driving me craaazy

maybe not the driver but the shitty software you are forced to install with it? dunno if there is a method now to install only the driver. google that Wink

but if its related to that shitty chip: just deactivate it and get a dedicated card. 1000base-t cards for pci available for less than 5 bucks or pcie for less than 10. doesnt matter which bus you use, pci is fast enough for gbit ethernet too. just pick the one which port you have available

I only have the drivers installed, don't have any of that killer software installed.

Dumb question. Since my motherboard only has pci-e x16 slots...can I put pci or pciex1 and it will still work into that x16 slot?

technically yes, but depends on the board. some boards only accept gfx cards in the slots, just try or google. and depends on the board if it splits the pci express lanes if something is plugged into another slot. but that should be mentioned in the manual

Gotta watch, and avoid at all costs, these new motherboards with the 'killer' shit integrated. One can usually get away with a 'driver only solution', but in most cases, it sucks donkey balls and is best avoided.

Reason I got rid of my last MSI board Wink

No issues here with 8.1.0.25, driver only. Which version do you have installed?
Maybe some win10 issue
