Developer: Dreamatrix Game Studios
Platform: PC
Publisher: Dreamatrix
Genre: Action & Adventure RPG
Territories: worldwide
Release Date: TBA

Description:
Quote:
Fresh out of the lair of Dreamatrix Game Studios, Legends of Dawn invites players to the brutal northerly reaches of Narr. Survival depends on you, your magic and your sword.

What sets Legends of Dawn apart, is the freedom of play expressed in several key attributes that are rarely seen in typical RPG genres. We have poured our passion and creativity into taking you on an enthralling ride away from wearisome reality, by providing you with the choice to be whatever your heart desires, in Legends of Dawn.

Of course, the choices you make during game play does not prevent you from trying something else later, or simultaneously if you wish. You could combine the sword and the magic, be a powerful crafter or anything else. Legends of Dawn liberates from class restrictions unlike real life. Class, race and differences exist within the game but after choosing your own race and gender, all else can be altered without restarting the game.

Another quality that makes Legends of Dawn interesting, is the freedom of direction and movement. Most games force a player to follow the main storyline and forbid any deviation, or significant veering off the set course. Legends of Dawn is more sympathetic to your playing needs. You are free to wander wherever tickles your fancy within the continent, without limitations, under one condition. Stay alive. We have been careful to ensure that the quests only suggest, rather than impose direction of movement. Your journey is in your hands alone.

In addition to all those remarkable features already mentioned, you are bound to notice another cool thing about Legends of Dawn. The absence of loading screen. It would have been so much easier to create a game that would constantly force you to wait before the screen while new contents load, but Dreamatrix is aware that your time is too valuable to waste. We put our heads together and created our very own engine that discreetly streams content in the background, in real time. You are free to enter houses, caves, dungeons, temples, new regions and so much more, without those pesky loading screens interrupting your playing pleasure.

In order to provide you with such blissful range of possibilities, we had to create a rather large world called Narr. The world of Narr in Legends of Dawn, spans across continents through stunning picturesque landscape that stimulates the mind. There are magical regions where the mountains and hills defy gravity, buoyant as balloons. We have also created countless dungeons awaiting for you to discover what mysteries lie within their cold depths, as well as camps, impressive docks and grim fortresses that bear silent witness to battles. Mausoleums and cemeteries also await your exploration. The hikes over unforgiving mountains and canyons are sure to thrill the most ardent explorer. Graceful flying islands and mystical swamps instil a sense of awe that could nudge you to cross the threshold of the serene temples and shrines to pay your respects to the gods of the land. With so much more on offer than is mentioned here, there is no reason why Legends of Dawn should not become your favourite RPG.

Awesome trailer! It reminds me of the first Dungeon Siege, not exactly sure why, but it does. Also, I love the actual looks of the game.

Now that's a nice lockpicking system!

This game reminds me more and more of the first Dungeon Siege. This is because of two big reasons I guess. One of them is that it simply looks so similar and the other is that it tries to innovate, it tries to bring something fresh to its genre.

Looking pretty cool, I hope they reduce the time between attacks a little though, the guy waits a little too long. And will there be top down camera?

I keep forgetting how this game is called, but I never forgot about the game itself. Smile

As for the Kickstarter, they're not asking for that much since the game is pretty much finished, so I would be surprised if the won't make it.

Well, it's press coverage is almost non existent, but the amount of money they're asking is low. I think they'll have a hard time to get 25k, but should get it.

Tiers are quite nice, though (specifically 15$ for digital download and 45$ for boxed version). Smile

EDIT :
Their KS has been successfully funded. Smile

Donated 45$
I hope they meet their dev tool stretch goal, it would be cool with another sandbox ARPG that the community could mod freely.

Seems interesting, but the graphics is a little bit too dated for me, also they are asking for 80k for mod tools, perhaps a bit too much?

They changed their stretch goals (probably due to old ones being unreachable) :
Quote:
$30.000

Only one award per player.

$35.000

RUINS Two building with rich rewards

$40.000
DUNGEON

With some unique items with systems of leveler players needs to turn on or off in order to get through. At the end will be special item rewords and monument with names of all KS backers

WATER MILLS

5 abandoned Elven water mills with rewards, scattered around

$45.000
DREAMATRIX MOD TOOLS - BETA
We believe offering moding tools is a crucial factor in helping our vision for the future LoD titles. Moding tools will give passionate players opportunity to add their content, ideas, do changes which may give everybody else new things to play with. It will also give us feedback what users want so it will help us make Legends of Dawn 2 much more better. The tools will be free and only for non commercial use in first phase.
Original stretch goal for the tools is 80k. We could save a lot if we release it without documentation and tutorials. We planned to make improvements to make it more user friendly and clear. We wanted to update several module to make them more powerful. However even without such refines / improvements it is very useful and powerful toolset. Since probably can't reach original stretch goal we are offering a compromise. Release of beta tools (for free) in it's rougher less polished form without the documentation and tutorials. Hopefully community will help us create those.
After the game is released you will be able to download all the tools used to create the game.

Right now they have $35.5k and 3 days to go. Even with these changed stretch goals I doubt they'll get $45k.

EDIT :
Well this is a surprise. They managed to get $45k. Surprised

I'm not sure. The combat looks boring. The world looks good enough though.

edit: but there looks to be good depth in the game itself so I backed. =)
