I have a forum converted from vBulletin to phpBB, and the video embed codes from the old forum are now like this:

How can I install an extension or custom code that parses this so they become embedded?

Just run a sql command that goes through the appropriate tables of the database and does a mod that takes out the ;whatever after whenever it sees [video=youtube

Better then running some stupid plugin/script that runs and likely opens your shitty forum up to attack. Of course any 'plugin' built for this will likely just do what I said and can then be removed.

You'll figure it out, good time to learn. Just make a backup so you can trial and error if you don't know what you're doing.
