Neill Blomkamp To Direct New ‘RoboCop’ For MGM; Justin Rhodes Rewriting Sequel Script By Creators Ed Neumeier & Michael Miner
| Quote: | EXCLUSIVE: MGM is developing a new installment of RoboCop and has set District 9 director Neill Blomkamp to helm the picture, which is titled RoboCop Returns. The studio hopes to revive a franchise that began with the Paul Verhoeven-directed satirical sci-fi action thriller that Orion released in 1987. Original writers Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner are producing and exec producing, respectively. Justin Rhodes, who co-wrote the Terminator film that Tim Miller is shooting, will rewrite the script that Neumeier and Miner wrote years ago as a planned sequel to Verhoeven’s hit, an installment that never happened. That duo is creatively involved in moving forward their creation for the first time since the original.

Nooo. RoboCop was a perfect late 80'ies movie. It simply doesn't fit 2018/2019.

The cop will be from a poor neighborhood, murdered violently and then used as a guinnea pig for the rich when they create the ultimate robocop hunting down only the 99%s rather than the vile criminals that are the 1%s.
He'll have no memory of his own and will see a destitute girl, being harassed by a bunch of rich folks, only to have his programming order him to kill her causes shes invading the rich air. As he decides against his programming, his system shuts down and he becomes the Robin hood hero.
Being unstoppable the 1%s, develop robots to fight robocop because the rich arent criminals.

Well if the face is Murphy's and not a copy, it ages, which would explain why Robo looks older.
You get Weller to do the acting, and a stunt double for everything else.
