I suppose you mean 4790K? But even then, imo, its completely useless. You'll be better off just OCing to 4.5Ghz.
If you want a real upgrade you're going to need at least a 5820K, but thats not going to be cheap and its not going to give you that much more FPS in many games, exccept maybe for minFPS. Not worth it. imo.
My advice: Don't upgrade just for Gaming.
I was going to upgrade my 3570K to Skylake but I seriously doubt its going to give me any gaming relevant advantage on 1200p excpet from benchmarks.
