Budapest-based developer NeocoreGames has announced Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr; an action-RPG it’s building in collaboration with Warhammer 40,000 creator Games Workshop.
NeocoreGames describes Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr as a “persistent sandbox action-RPG” and explains that the single-player campaign will thrust players “into a grim and secret war among the stars as the agents of the ever-vigilant Inquisition.” NeocoreGames also promises that, after the campaign concludes, the story will continue “in a colossal sandbox game” that the developer claims will give players “years of constant entertainment, gradual development and a continuous flow of content that enriches the action-RPG gameplay.”
“There’s a reason why we chose the world of Warhammer 40,000: it’s intense, brutal, visceral – a perfect material for an action RPG,” said producer Zoltán Pozsonyi in a statement. “Working with Games Workshop, we’re doing our best to bring a high quality game to the community. We’re huge fans as well, so we care deeply about this game.”
Hungarian studio NeocoreGames, founded in 2005, has developed several other RPGs, including King Arthur and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing.
The announcement itself doesn’t linger on any real specifics so we don’t know a great deal else about Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr at this stage. It’s due out in 2016 for PC, Mac, Xbox One and PlayStation 4

Heh, what a coincidence - I've just finished sifting through The Lord Inqusitor's facebook - https://www.facebook.com/The.Lord.Inquisitor - a CGI short (AFAIK, blessed by GW after a long time) that started a couple years ago and moved from normal rendered CGI to being made in Crytek's Cinebox, because the guy works for them.
Oh man, that's great news! Neocore's a great dev, sure they fucked up some things for Van Helsing, but generally they know what they are doing. Really hope they can pull this one off!
Still pre-alpha so I won't condemn it yet, but maybe they shouldn't have shown it in such an early state. And I hope the final game is a lot more violent, it looks stupid for people to just flop over dead after being killed by a bolter. Being able to target the boss' body parts was pretty cool though.
Because in todays gaming world games tend to get so much better at release date, compared to their pre-alpha-state.
Are you new to gaming or just extremely naive?
Maybe the performance willl be a bit better at release. But they won't change the slow and boring gameplay.

Sure BOB, games in a state BEFORE alpha, and at RELEASE date are exactly on the same stage or state. Sure thing, BOB.
Ill just.. er.. let you be, man.. er.. just be yourself.. or.. bye now.

Meanwhile the people of that generation will call those guys relics, and not move with the times when everything is auto fucking.
While it is technically true that a game in alpha is very different from the final/release version, the issue these days is that devs/publishers like to slap the "pre-alpha" tag on everything they show, so they have an easy out if/when things change. The truth is that most early public showings are vertical slices or other non-representative target render footage, and the game will likely end up worse looking on release, not better, especially for multi-platform/console ports. See A:CM, Watch Dogs, Witcher 3, etc., etc.
Not much new info but it says the game will be DX12 and they're already planning free content patches and two standalone expansions. Also the open world sections are persistent online so other players can see the results of each other's actions. There's also a PvP mode where you can raid other people's bases.
What the hell is up with the gameplay? If it's the same at release, then fuck that. And usually the core gameplay isn't changed from the "pre-alpha" (riiiiight) to the final.
Also that sandbox bullshit is the usual excuse to get out of creating a proper single player campaign.
That really does look just like a reskin of Van Helsing, everything just looks the same.. same font, same animations, same enemy health bars and damage. It's just... Van Helsing. Don't get me wrong; I loved the VH series, but a WH40K aRPG shouldn't just be a reskin
