|
 |
Every fucking day I got an update for it the last week. This time it took 15 fucking minutes to install some virus protection thing. WHY THE FUCK DO I NEED THAT WHEN I ALREADY HAVE ONE?! Ontop of that, I said to restart my computer later, and it pops up every minute. Windows doesnt fucking listen I DONT WANT TO FUCKING RESTART MY COMPUTER! Seriously, why did they need to make a reminder every minute AND make it a popup?! I think the popup is to compensate for the size of their penis and intelligence!
The man who gives the insult writes in the sand. But for the man who receives it, it is chizzled in stone.

Though the updates are quite important in some cases so make sure you update sometimes.

Its easier to turn it off if your using SP1..I just installed SP2 and if I turn of Wndows Update then that "Sheild" Icon in the Bottom Right Hand Corner always nags me ,is there a way of turning it off ? Or making it not appear?

I hate WU and that is the first thing I disable when my PC is booting from a fresh install. I don't want any stuff like SP2... Thats a virus IMHO.
I got my hands on a WinXP SP1 version with Update Rollup 1 and that keeps blaster and its likes away.
And then I put Panda antivirus in there and I am good to go.
For you who really wants to get rid of automatic updates make sure you disable BITS (Background Intelligence Transfer Service) because that will download some updates even if you disable WU.
To do that do this:
Control Panel -> Admin tools -> Services -> Background Intelligence Transfer Service, right click it and choose Props and then disabled.
Thought someone would like to know..

Start -> Run -> services.msc
Find the "Security Center" service, right-click and select "Properties". Press "Stop" and set the "Startup type" to "Disabled".
No more nagging!

WTF, no matter how much i update the winupdate-tray is always blinkin and bitchin.
But since you say they're important, there's no use disabling them is there...
