So, if I have 2 sticks of DDR3 ram in my computer, and I want to add 2 more sticks, do I need to use the EXACT same brand and all or can I use anything as long as it's DDR3 and same speed?

Thx!

its better to use the same kit, but others should work fine too. just watch out for the same timings and voltage.

if you get problems you might have to raise the voltage just a little bit cause some boards are kinda "special" with all ram slots used

Like Janz said it's best to use a kit. The memory chips used on the exact same brand and model might have changed since you bought the RAM.

quad channel support is based on the cpu and board, no consumer stuff supports that (maybe the ddr4 haswell-e stuff)

dual channel works as well with 4 same modules as well as with two same modules + 1 modul with the size of the other ones together. almost every newer board should suppport that (so channel a has two 4gb modules and channel b gets one 8gb module)
