Despite some epileptic turbo-brazen art direction and the obligatory dose of jank, it turns out this is a pretty solid addition indeed to the nuretro world. The game succeeds at fulfilling men-ly power fantasies through the large levels with a lot of verticality, the bloody chainsaw leg capable of effortlessly mowing grunts, the unlockable abilities/platforming, vehicle sections and the (almost) complete freedom during combat. The snappy free-flowing movements definitely help, as well as the curated visuals with modern effects and the pumping synthrack
The difficulty is oddly tuned though, I'd recommend playing it on Serve Me Pain because anything lower than that truly is way too mundane - at least until some of the late bosses. It's not a short game either (for the genre) and there's a B-movie-like story in it too for good measure, but eviscerating filthy mutants takes precedence.

Quite good indeed, introduces some fun mechanics along the way to make it interesting.
I just wish someone would make something like this but Deus Ex 1 or System Shock 2-like, so a little slower paced and a little more serious, a bit more RPG but without needing to be a full-on one, story can be simplistic too, i don't care. I don't understand how we can have so many shooters released every year but really nothing in same vein as those classics, it would do really well. (Hell, i'll even throw in Theif 1-2-like - fantasy or sci-fi setting -... bet that would sell too).
