Our first game is Ancestors : the Humankind Odyssey.
Our game is a third person action-adventure survival episodic game.
Through each episodes, we want the player to relive the greatest moments of mankind with a documentary twist. Our civilisation is one idea away from extinction... or evolution.
Quote:
Based on what Desilets said on the conference, it will be an episodic digital game.
Trailer has shown human milestones going back in time up until 5,000,000 BC

"[Ancestors] is an episodic, narrative-driven game where we leave you there with the toy in between episodes," Désilets said. "If your goal as a caveman is to harness the power of fire, once you meet that objective you are left in an open world to experiment with that fire, try to survive, and pass your knowledge along to your progeny."
The game will flit through history and feature numerous protagonists in many different settings. Each will allow players to relive a key moment in the evolution of humankind.
Désilets has more than 20 scenarios in mind, such as the early domestication of animals, the revolutionary discovery of penicillin and the first Moon landing.
The game's story will not centre around war or fighting, and instead focus more on the gradual progress of human civilisation and survival.
"You'll have the sequence of the amazing, huge bush fire that you have to flee with your family," Désilets said of an early level, "and the only way to survive eventually is to turn around and use this fire.
"You go back to your tribe and build a fire, and then it's systemic. After this it's your adventure until I come back and say, 'There's a new adventure for you.' You could call it a mission or a level - we still haven't decided what to call it - but each time we introduce a new feature that is laid with the story of humankind...
"We're putting a lot of Hollywood stuff in, and then we leave you with a systemic, persistent open world where it becomes Day Z or Minecraft. But instead of blocky, it's triple-A quality environments in this bubble."
Update: Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets has detailed his new game, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, at a live presentation at Reboot Develop in Croatia today. Here’s every significant he said about it:
The game is no longer episodic as it’s grown too big.
The game is currently playable but isn’t ready to release anytime soon. Panache does have a date in mind for release so it’s not a “ship when it’s ready” affair.
“It’s a third-person action adventure game set 10 million to 2 million years ago,” according to Desilets.
There will be resource management and survival elements.
The team has discussed cannibalism and whether it should feature in the game as it has in human history.
On fighting or tribal conflict in the game: “Eventually, maybe, there will be conflict [in the game] but it’s not there yet.”
The game was originally about playing “hour to hour” when episodic, now it’s “open, bigger” and “has systems working together”.
The same animator who created Ezio in Assassin’s Creed and the prince in Prince of Persia is working on the characters of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.
A significant part of the game is set in Africa: “the game world is big,” says Desilets, but he’s not keen to spoil too much of the game ahead of the release.
“It’s the first time I’ve created a character who interacts with the jungle. There are no walls. What’s the light like? I’ve never worked on that before. There’s no sword, no swordfights. Eventually you get a branch…”
Desilets wants players to “have fun with the toy I’m giving you and you’ll create the story of your ancestors.”
Desilet’s other project, 1666: Amsterdam is currently on hold while work continues on Ancestors.
The project is “well funded” and being built by 32 staff at the studio in Montreal. When you work at Panache, no one works on a Monday (!).
On hiring female staff to work on his game: “If the candidate has a dick he’s not hired. I’m not telling the story of humankind only with guys. It didn’t happen that way. You need to make babies.”
On the Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia movies: “I never participated in them.”
On hiring female staff to work on his game: “If the candidate has a dick he’s not hired. I’m not telling the story of humankind only with guys. It didn’t happen that way. You need to make babies.”

What the?
PC points. Just that. Don't hire based on quality hire based on if you can get your dick sucked later when it's crunch time so you're less stressed about not delivering the product on time because you hired incompetents just to have a different perspective instead of hiring an anthropologist on staff to give you guidance. These people don't learn.
So basically it's going to ignore all aspects of early life such as rape, torture, mutilation, rape, treating females as just breeders, sex objects, damsels, weak whilst trying to give an honest look at early life? lol
Cause you know back in those days women were just as powerful as the men protecting them because that's what history has taught us.
Set in Africa... so will it have stereotypical negroid bull shit or nah? Your main character better be full on black and no other option... keep it accurate. Maybe later down the road when the negroid rapes a random caucasoid you can pick to be their mixed child. and slowly rape other caucasoids and dilute your gene pool and then when you're strong return to your ancestral africa and rape a negroid to go back and forth between races.
When a strange caucasoid appears will they be treated as a threat or foe or friend?
This game is going to suck if you can't randomly and brutally rape. But hey we talked about cannibalism because that's more important...
I know I am... but sometimes when an awesome idea comes to mind... don't let current social politics fuck it up. It's why games like Saints Rows and Grand Theft Autos exist. This game has potential... but I'm afraid it'll get fucked up because PC.
What about the aliens?? If they want to create a game depicting human history of evolution why not put in the reality of extra-terrestrial life outside this earth ( ) modelled us into what we are today for their own purposes and agendas by manipulating our dna with technology we can't even begin to comprehend or even think it exist!!
That's the missing link!! Look at the pyramids for crying out loud! Ain't no man build, draggued, cut like a razor 20 tons rocks!! At least not without any help!!
Anyways...lolll!! Just sayin puttin an Alien twist in it could be kewl and soft disclosure....drip drip drip...
ANd btw! Fawk that Darwin crap!! If you think about it, why would the human be the only species that evolved so quickly ?? Why didn't elephants, giraffes, and all those animals evolved to something else then what they are today..still ?? alligators and all the reptiles that have been here for millions of years and are still today.
But we humans are sooo special that we evolved from an ape which is still today an ape, why as he not evolved into us by now ??
My point is

If aliens did model us after themselves back in those days then aliens are some ugly mother fuckers because we've evolved from looking like some son of an ape into what we are today.

Did not model us after themselves. They modified our dna and mixted it with theirs creating hybrids. Off course this is from a humanoid species at base so that the mix could be viable.
True story!!l

Desilets hit play on a video project called “Experiences”, built using the engine, art and assets for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.
It began with a vulture soaring over the jungle, before cutting to an ape – presumably the player in third-person – exploring the trees, rivers and rocks around it.
The ape lept through trees, climbed up trunks and launched itself from the very highest branch, in a similar way to the classic parkour of Assassin’s Creed. That ape could move quickly too, from branch to branch like a spider-monkey.
We also saw an ape attacked by a crocodile and killed. The crocodile then met its own grisly end at the jaws of a sabre-tooth tiger. That tiger? Crushed to death by a giant snake. Nature is brutal and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey isn’t shying away from that.
Although Desilets has said previously that Ancestors is not episodic, the footage we saw was labelled Volume One, and Desilets was on screen with an anthropologist discussing “Volume One” focusing on “Africa, 10 million years ago”.
We saw a shrewdness of apes interacting, with the player character grooming another ape. Expect to go online and pick fleas from fellow players, we reckon.
Someone playing the game was using an Xbox One controller, but don’t read too much into that. Focus on the gameplay, the art, the huge open world.
After the ape plucked coconuts from a tree, it climbed to a nest and pinched bird eggs. That didn’t end well, as an eagle swooped down, plucked the player from the nest and flew off with its prey.
Cut to a shot of the ape with its guts and rib cage torn out, the eagle feasting greedily on the player.
The video ended. There were whoops and applause. A rep from publisher Take-Two had the look of fear in his eyes, clearly thinking “I hope this hasn’t leaked out”.
I dont understand why eat drink sleep are the only core elements for survival. What about reproduction?
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
