For the first time I used their recommended settings; GTAV were well below what I could actually use, and ARMA3 ran in the 30s in all scenarios.
....why? Why even have it? What criteria are they meeting? Do they do it based on your GPU? Does your CPU come into account? Does the number of GPUs? Do overclocks?
Same here, only with me it's games like Dragon Age Inquisition ... where it recommends Ultra for everything. Or Evil Within, where it recommends maximum everything. Or ... etc etc.
It's a ridiculous thing that simply doesn't work effectively, unless of course they're aiming for 1080p30 >_>

It's probably been designed for those people (mostly ex console gamers ) who jump straight into a game, without configuring anything, and enjoy what they see, no questions asked. What is tessellation? VRAM what? I don't care about framerate, imma let mah GeeeFarce XP decide what's best for me!
