Now I want something external below 100$.
Since I have Brainwavz hm5 which are 60ohm, it would be nice to have volume control and headphone input on desk.

anyone have fiio e10k or sound blaster omni ? both seem to be doing the same thing. Shame that none will work without pc, just as amp
edit: actually omni have line in and don't need drivers too. But it must be shit anyway. I bet it Laughing

From FiiO you could get something like E07 or E17 instead - those are portable so you can use them with anything. E17 got a lot of praise from people - supposedly quite good for the price. It's a bit over 100 though, but not by much.

e07 dont have speakers out. only headphone. e17 is too expensive

the point it that x-fi hd and omni have many inputs and might be ebtter suited for pc usage even if I dont give a shit about virtual surround

well, the thing was bad. from time to time, it decided to not work and I had to insert it in another pci slot, reinstall drivers.
And because f all that my hd front panel audio connector is not in the best shape and I am not willing to replace my case.
that's why I would like to have headphone input on my desk.

fiio e10 or x-fi hd.... I think I will go for fiio e10k, since it don't need drivers, is small. I might miss eax in older games tho..

The little thingie just came in. Holy shit what a difference. The sound is so clear now with 0 noise. And bass boost option is what my brainwavz hm5 needed !
edit: Again, waiting for Spykez approval Crying or Very sad ... but holy fuck it sounds great
