Very interesting, how our brains see colours differently from one person to another based on the sunlight.

haha how I see it, I mean other than talking about it in the epic thread and seeing 4000 posts of it on facebook for some reason I don't get the sensationalism of it, I don't see why its a HUGE deal? no one on the internet has seen optical illusions before?

The thing is: the camera that took the picture was utterly shit and completely distorted the colours. THAT is why there's two ways to see it. It overexposed the dress so badly, that the blue becomes near-white and the black actually becomes brown-ish.
And yes, you can use Photoshop to make it both black/blue and gold/white but only the black/blue adjustment will see the background turn to a normal shade. The gold/white edit will see the background even more exposed.

I've just observed all the pics of this dress, even the artificially altered ones/darkened with some added blue tint, and I still see white and gold every single time. Oh well

oh yeah i read about many people who managed to switch from white/gold to black/blue but don't think anyone was able to make the switch the opposite way
